Great interview, with many revelations

I was left tainted by the knowledge that, having been promised his input would be rewarded with writing credits, after laying down his tracks for the Bark at the Moon album, Jake was then told he either sign over the rights, or they would bring in someone else to replay his parts and he would be sidelined for no reward. Ozzy later said he was screwed over in Sabbath, so he was then screwing over others as that was how it worked.
Jeez. Puts Ozzy in a different light and leaves me realising why Jake kept his head down on the BATM tour. He must have been seething. Is this how Oz treated Randy? I need to get the old vinyls out and check the credits. I also need to read Bob Daisley's book.

its all Sharon man..yes ozzy would be well aware of what went down but the guy was a drunk idiot who probably has zero input in the "business" side of things. I assume randy already had a contract before sharon took over managing ozzy so I also assume full royalties go to his estate

That interview (which I listen to earlier in the week) is one of the best things I have ever heard, honestly 2.5 hours of jake and greg just being real is awesome. Some of the badlands stuff shocked me as well. I kinda wish some one else was interviewing instead of trunk but I guess he does have a style that makes his guests really relaxed so they open up a bit more

When Ozzy played Lakeland Civic Center, Randy Rhoads looked like he couldn't wait for the show to end. Ozzy was saying all sorts of stupid shit, and Randy would just shake his head... Not once did he laugh at Ozzy's antics. Randy appeared particularly annoyed when Ozzy lifted him up off the stage. Ozzy then tried the same thing with Rudy Sarzo... Rudy lifted his bass as to hit him with it, and Ozzy backed-off.

Oh man, that sucks. He probably lost out on a lot of money. He wrote some great stuff on that album. regardless if it was Sharon, Ozzy should have stepped in after supposedly being screwed over by Black Sabbath knowing how shitty it was. What a fucking dick, or Sharon, what a fucking cunt!! I worked in the music business in LA for quite a while and she had a nasty reputation, especially when it came to Ozzfest or what ever it was called.

Really enjoyable interview, all the way through.
On the positive side, it sounds like Jake is getting his chops back together as the touring goes on.

I am going to see Jake in a few days. Can't wait to hear him tear up some old and new tunes. It's the least I can do to support him after what Bark at the Moon meant to me as a kid. Hell, that song still does it for me today!

I think Jake waited too long to get back in the limelight again. After Badlands, if he would have jumped into another project or put out some instrumental albums, etc., I think he would have survived. Just couldn't stay relevant enough.

I think he should do an instrumental album with Warren DeMartini, now that RATT is supposedly done.

Does not seem like an aggressive or sharp guy for the talent he possesses, listening to that interview, especially all of the sarcastic name dropping was pretty douchebag in my view.

With respect to time off (~15-20yrs), what should he or anybody expect? But then again, many of the guys from the 80's are now has beens and heros of the past that are irrelevant beyond this board discussion and playing local bars for tens of hundreds if lucky. No disrespect but change and life move on. Would have also liked to see him do more with his career after Badlands as well. That Red Dragon singer sucks ass, so I don't expect this project to go to far, might be just a way to pay bills.
