Ozzy Osbourne - Mama I’m Coming Home guitar cover (No More Tears, 1991). It's been awhile since I've redone a song, having originally covered this in December 2018. A timeless Ozzy ballad, with 12-string acoustic pieces by Zakk Wylde. Speaking of 12-string, this was my first time performing with one! RIP OZZY, hope my tribute to the Prince of Darkness is worthy!

Song name: Mama I'm Coming Home
Band: Ozzy Osbourne
Album: No More Tears
Year: 1991
Guitars used: ESP LTD Deluxe M-1000, ESP LTD Elite ST-1, Takamine Thinline TSP138, Takamine Thinline TSP158C-12
Amp: Line 6 Helix LT
Software for recording audio: Audacity
Software for video editing: VSDC

Nailed it. Great job. I think there is beauty in the simplicity of that solo. I wouldn't change a note of Zakk's choice on that one. And I dig the pinch harmonics.

My guitar teacher growing up played that opening lick every lesson. He'd tune and then use that lick to check tune. Got a real soft spot for this song.
Real nice Tak.

Wow nice. You should post that on the main forum.

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah Zakk proving that less is more, every note in the solo has meaning and purpose. He's goes overboard with the pinch harmonics in other songs, but here those fit in perfectly.

I recently discovered the Demo version of the song online, solo is the same but the song's overall vibe is quite different. Definitely recommend watching to get a fresh perspective:
the high strings on the 12string are really hard to hear
Good call out, I'll try working on that next time:cool:

according to Ozzy's last book he gave Lemmy the demo to write the lyrics...but he said the demo was on piano.. would love to hear that

I felt the vibe was same but I'm glad you posted it.

It took years of not hearing the right piece to catch my attention before I could appreciate the voice of a 12-string. Great job with this one!
