Ozzy & Zakk is out again!

That whole-step down tuning sounds like complete shit! Zakk needs to tune up and bring back his Gibson's and Marshall's...IMHO.

I'm sure the down-tuning is for Ozzy's voice. Sounds like Funeral-Dirge shit.

I applaud it....good to see them back together again. We, knowing how things used to be expect it to be like that again, or we scoff it......meanwhile, kids who never had things as great as we did hear us complaining about it and write off the whole thing and it slowly dies as a result....but we didn't carry the torch like we should have....so complain away and shit on the goods and watch EDM fill the void...because "old". I will always love Ozzy, and as long as he's breathing and playing the good shit he'll have my support.

It makes me happy to see Oz still on his feet (just) and Zakk back in the picture
Forever it will be, until the big man falls over
If I am doing half what he does at his age, I'll be delighted

Yeh, the Lezz Paul is not a great piece of design work
The new plank in this one is a better fit

THIS! Loved the solo, awesome! Ozzy and Zakk being back together, is just "right" IMO. I don't give a fuck what guitar he plays, as long as he keeps rippin' with the same passion that's all that matters.

I must agree - that DVD is killer and Zakks tone is loud and ridiculous. His playing is sick too.

I posted this morning on YouTube about Bark at the Moon. Sounded tuned to C#. Almost didn't recognize the song until it kicked in. Sounded bad in that tuning. I think Ozzy especially and some other bands need to call it. It's exactly like a pro athlete. Once your legs/voice is gone, time to retire. No one wanted to see Kobe Bryant brick ones off the backboard his last year, and we don't deserve watching lackluster songs that are a shell of their masterpiece.

2002 Budokan Tour was one of the best. Its been all downhill since.

The former Faith no more drummer here is a madman ...

Agreed, the mix is stellar on that DVD.

Also agree with my fellow poster above.

Does older Zakk only have one speed of vibrato? It's wicked and all but given how slow the songs are played it just doesn't fit every lick. I agree that the tempo def seems slower but I would guess that this is also due to being tuned down a step and a half. This type of music just drags that low. Nothing pops. I think once you go lower than a half step, it might be time to consider retiring .... yeah Coverdale, that applies to you too! Aldrich probably couldn't find strings thick enough to play that low so he quit the band..

Can't wait for the 2 whole steps down/auto tune Tour ...

Is he playing his Zack guitars? I doubt it.

I couldn't see myself paying for that thing... with that said a good friend of mine did give me one of Zak's Graveyard Disciple guitar for my birthday a few years ago (the one shaped like a coffin). It's interesting... lol

I could see in the vid, he is playing his guitar that looks like a Les Paul. I think that his whole company was probably a big Moneypit.

It's Tommy Clufetos I think. Been Ozzy's drummer for awhile and he did the Sabbath tours as well. Really nice guy. I met him at a bar after a Sabbath show in 2013. I asked him, you play drums for Ozzy now your touring with Black Sabbath. How is it? He said it doesn't suck. Ya... I bet it doesn't. LOL!

Man didn't even recognise Tommy without the beard and more hair

-BLACK SABBATH/OZZY was tuning down to C# since 1971, with IOMMI & GEEZER both tuned down-(who says a bass turns to mush when tuned that low)- with the 3rd album, MASTER of REALITY, I'm not sure what tuning's Randy, Jake or Zak used, but I know they all had guitars just for the Sabbath song's,

Wow is that a SLOOOOOOW tempo!

The right tempo  To often people speed up their songs live and lose the groove entirely

I kinda think it's too slow but maybe Ozzy can't keep up with a faster tele prompting.... :) Sounds pretty cool regardless...

Ha! Teleprompter. He's used one since at least 1998. I stood there for the first Ozzfest 98 soundcheck the day before the very first show at the Nissan Pavilion in NJ. Mike Borden was absolutely crushing his drums he hit them so hard. And I was right next to him reading the Teleprompter. Bonus points for anyone who knows who was singing with the band for soundcheck. No, it wasn't Ozzie.

Robert Mason?

Whitfield Crane The singer from Ugly Kid Joe. I'm not kidding. He actually wasn't bad.

not true, they all played the same guitars through out the set. Randy used his Les Paul on all the sabbath stuff tuned to E. His white charvel was tuned to Eb and he only used that on 1 or 2 songs at most

You are right but it wasn't for ozzy solo .. Whit sang at Black Sabbath rehearsals in 1997 (3 times in birmingham) because Ozzy didn't want to over use his voice before the shows. Whit never sang "back up" at the concerts though but I understand Robert Mason did (on a different tour...ozzy solo band)

Most old Sabbath is tuned to E flat not C#.

-only BLACK SABBATH & PARANOID were tuned to "E"-(and a slightly sharp "E" at that)-all the rest mostly C#

-with Randy you could be right, saw him on both tours & OZZY was only singing the mandatory SABBATH songs-(all in standard tuning)-and usually only at ovation's

-saw both Jake & especially Zak change guitar's for SABBATH songs as OZZY dug deeper into the SABBATH catalog.
