Im so gassing for a P90 guitar right now. What should I look at?

I really want testicles out, big balls. I'd love a Les Paul Special with 2 p-90s in it.

Am I mad, or is this just a logical progression?

Goad me, why should I get a guitar of this nature, i this a good idea ( I bet it is!!!)....

One of the best things i ever did was purchase an R6.
I am loving P90's. The only drawback is the hum, but it's not as bad as a strat or tele, and you get use to it after a while.

Or you could take any HB guitar and install the P-Rails and have the best of both worlds.

You absolutely have to check out the new Lindy Fralin hum-cancelling P90's, They sound EXACTLY like regular P90's except no 60 cycle hum. By far the best I've heard. A lot of the other stacked P90's are just OK, they lack the grind of normal P90's...but not these Fralins. I just installed a set into my own Gibson LP Special Double Cut, totally rules.

Those are the only ones i think I haven't tried (they weren't quite out yet when i was pickup swapping).
So you really like them?
I have yet to find anything that comes close to the stock Gibson pickups.

I saw a lot of people on TGP selling them pretty quick, so I figured that most weren't happy with them :(

I honestly found almost no tone difference between the original Gibson and the new Fralin. I love it, plus I absolutely can't stand 60 cycle hum. I've tried almost all the other stacked P90's without liking any of them. The Fralins just came out, so I'm surprised to hear you mention people selling them? Either way, it's a keeper in my guitar.

Well...it's TGP....they sell faster than most, lol.
I will look into getting a set for my R6 then, tks!

I'd never played a P-90 guitar until I got my Les Paul Custom, and to be honest I intended to route it out for PAF's until I found it was almost completely original. Now I love that guitar, and the tone is unbelievable.

56 paul is great as is the PRS McCarty with P 90's. I have a Gene Baker B1 with them in it and it is absolutely stunning. Great pickups to have and they sound wonderful and are more versatile then you may think. I say go for it and get a good axe with them and don't look back. :D

+1 the versatility shocked me. I thought since they were single coils, I was thinking strat bridge like tones for OD sounds, and it's nothing like that at all.

I have a stock little cheapo Gibson Les Paul Special with P90's that we use at the studio all the time, great little guitar. I think it cost my $500 new last year. Thinking about upping the pickups to something, maybe Fralins.

What do you think?

She pretty much looks like this:

I think all mahogany body.

Nothing 'cheapo' about a LP Special.
I'd love to add one of those to the collection.

I liked the Duncans i had tried. The only ones i didn't were the noiseless, but that was because they are thicker and I would have had to route.
They are more humbucker like than P90, and i switched back the the stock Gibsons.

Mikey!!! Where and how have you been?
Boob!!

I've been about, here and there...I havent gone away, just havent as much time these days. :)

I am well!! And I like my own testicles. Well, I dont like them, in the same way I like cheese, if you know what I mean...

Good P-90 suggestions guys, what about the hollow body route, as in an Epiphone casino or wildkat?

Just sent my Special to Jerry at Luxxtone to get Fralin Hum Canelling P90's installed.

I don't know about those, but I know a kid that has his grandads '60's ES 175 with P-90's and it sounds insanely good. It does howl a bit though.

Yeah, I know...thats the price you pay to look ultra cool, like brian setzer.

Basically, thats what this is all about, I doubt I could do any guitar of this nature justice, its all about me drinking whiskey and then subsequently looking awesome.

I dig the unique tone of the P-90 though. Its playing on my mind.
