Trying to find the db rating on the Eminence p50e that come in VHT/Fryette cabs. Not having any luck. You guys know what it is?

I can't find it, BUT.....FWIW, I'm pretty sure it's not as high as the WGS ET-65.

I had a quad of P50's in one emperor, and a quad of ET65's in an identical emperor.

The ET65's were noticeably louder, and they say 98 db on the site..

Of All the people here I was counting on you to have the answer for me.   JK, I can't find it either, damnit! I was thinking about doing an X pattern with something else but I don't want it to overpower the P50. Any suggestions? The V30 is way louder so that's out.

Email then Tom, I'm sure they would give you a suggestion or maybe the db rating

That is because the V30 is a very inefficient speaker.
Just email support and they will tell you.

Thanks fellas, I will email Fryette.
I don't know shit about speakers. Will a speaker with a higher db rating be louder than a speaker with a lower db rating given they are the same ohms and have equal power going to them? If not, how do you determine if a speaker will be comparable, volume wise? Please school me. :)

Yeah, my understanding is that the db rating determines the loudness of the speaker, however you cant always trust them across manufacturers. Ive found that eminence typically rates their speakers higher than celestion does...Ive had some eminence speakers rated really high, and celestion rating a few dbs lower, and the celestions are louder. When comparing my M12s with k100s, however, the k100s were grossly overpowered by the M12s. Same with the delta pros v the M12s. Best thing to do, IMO, would be to try it out and see what happens. Those db ratings can be pretty unreliable.

EDIT: Loudness also seems to be partly determined by the speakers voice...which Im sure partly contributes to the V30s loudness.

Tom, I was going to mention this but Raf beat me to it lol! a speaker with more upper mids will of course appear louder even if it isn't
Let me know what Fryette has to say about an X pattern

P50E's are rated at 98dB sensitivity

P50E sensitivity is 98dB. The voicing and cab design have more to do with percieved volume that the sensitivity rating.

I have 2 Celestion GK-85s combined with 2 P50Es in my FB cab...and they mix very well. Lots thump...open...still woodie...

Thanks for clearing that up......guess I will throw the db rating out of the window since it's not set in stone. Or at least what's perceivable in the room. Gk-85 is that like a GK100?

Jerry, you appear to be posting too much since your start date. You need to slow down. :D
