I'm really bummed that I can't go...

The wife informed me early this week that the inlaws were coming for a visit. One thing I never get to do is be around other guitarists - and I always get to learn something, especially in this case since there will be so many good players!! Next time gadget!!!!
No problem then, inform the wife that you had this planned before and tell the in-laws to come on Sunday or still come on Saturday but, that you'll be back around 5:30 or so, so they should come later. They'll also avoid the traffic on the way home by leaving around 9 or so
I'd do it man. I skipped out on getting my son's 1st birthday party ready the day before to go to the Steve Vai Evo Experience. Results: I got the cold shoulder for 2 days. My son's party was completely ready only 30 minutes late (nothing major missing at start time and the guests all came 30 minutes to 2 hours late anyway). After the 2 days, I had a warm shoulder again. My son's party turned out better (and ended 2 hours later) than we'd expected. And I met Steve Vai, played EVO for a minute, and got to be at a soundcheck where they recorded stuff to be released at a later date.
