I like the tones/lead playing.

For a guy that is so concerned about not being pigeon-holed or sounding like an 80's guy, even though that's what he is, he sure doesn't mind sounding like 1991's Badmotorfinger. I don't get it. What's so cool about sounding like 22 years ago, but not being caught dead sounding like 23 years ago?
The talk by friends of Joe was that this was going to sound like vintage, heavy Deep Purple with heavier and crazy guitar playing. I love Deep Purple. I can't stand Soundgarden.

Not even close to being Deep Purple and sounds a lot like the 90's... I hate the 90's for anything other than the thrash scene. The Annihilators and Pantera's did fine work then.

Well I actually like some of the early 90's stuff a lot and Soundgarden included. This sounds damn good, but it is not what I would expect from Joe Holmes.

You just need to decide are you bound for Valhalla or bound for Jesus! Some nice playing in that vid though. The Joe Holmes vid was a snooze. I guess some of the 80's guys got so demoralized and destroyed by the obliteration of that style in the 90's they now can't escape the 90's in their current attempts. A "grunge" PTSD of sorts...

Solo sounds alot like text book Zakk Wylde..he never sounded like that on the Lizzy Borden album..
for getting so much crap Zakk pretty much influenced so many guitarists, the aggressive pentatonic runs and pinch harmonics and attitude...
that Brewster video is some of the best guitar I have heard in awhile!
