Convincing someone they are acting unintelligently is difficult because, low-ability individuals often lack the self-awareness to recognize their own incompetence. If they are firmly attached to a delusion, they likely won't change and no amount of facts, hard data will convince them because then they would have to acknowledge that they made a mistake and inside their minuscule likely small functioning brain that realization is too much for them to comprehend , so its safer for them to lash out with insults oftentimes with childish, racial and sometimes homophobic slurs masking their own fears and insecurities
