NOTHING TO DO WITH VAN HALEN :scared:

Does anybody have any experience or insight on these? Convertible back with good construction and a built in attenuator. removable magnetic grill. They've been out for a while now and with those features paired with that price, I'm surprised they haven't taken off. There is one on reverb for $375 with 30% off. It's almost concerning honestly but I'll probably get one some how based on value. They cost less than 2x12 cabs with no features, I don't get it. (yes, i'm not trying to say that all cabs are alike and you don't get what you pay for TONE wise) Also, they don't seem easily attainable

The attenuator is passive. I've never dealt with a passive attenuator but haven't heard good things honestly. this cab could have many purposes and I need a simple setup for the living room and don't want to lug around an attenuator but i almost need one to be able to actually play amps...

Very little info out there. Gear gods has a good speaker shootout on their 1x12 speakers.

This video demonstrates what you're getting into

I tried to buy one of the tonewood 1x12 D30 cabs from them during the black Friday sale. It was a "pre-order" with an expected shipment date of early/mid December. By the time mid January rolled around (after being told it was on the boat in mid December) I got tired of waiting and cancelled my order. So the best advice I can offer is to only buy things listed as in stock.

If you do a web search you'll find some reviews mentioning that their stuff isn't the best quality. You get what you pay for...

I did search and found people had issues with orders and defective units. Stuff like that. Didn't see much info specific to tone or performance of the attenuator or anything like that

I have a Road Series 2x12 with AV30s in it. My only issue with the attenuator is that it "darkens" the sound. I'm not sure really how to explain it better than that without actually recording some samples.

I haven't had any problems with it, but I haven't used it in a live situation either, so I'd be hard pressed to say anything definitive about the cab having quality issues.

That's kind of what I would assume. I wonder if you could compensate with the right boost, treble, and presence. I get that it's just not the same...

I just use the amp's EQ to adjust to the changes, but I'm sure if you put a pedal in front of it, that could help, too.

I don't use pedals, otherwise I would test it for you.
