The mix sounds damn good and they have Vinny's triggered bass drums perfect. I wish Zakk used some old Randall RG100ES's though instead of the the 2203's but I guess he didn't want to play what he wasn't familiar with.

Sounds like shit IMO. That whole project is a mess. Sounds like a lazy, flat sounding local cover band. I grew up with Pantera in the clubs and I’ve never had any interest in this.

I’ve still managed to not hear one second of Phil and the Boys calling this PanterA, I’m kind of determined to keep it that way lol

Yeah, it's lame. Zakk has BLS tone, not Pantera.
I don’t mind Zakk when he stays in his own lane. But this sounds like a washed out mess with nobody on the same page. No pocket, no groove, no punch. That’s what Pantera was about. Phil should can this and concentrate on DOWN, but I get its a cash cow

Saw them with Metallica in Philly last year. They were fine, but the guitar sound just doesn’t fit the music for me…..and I love Zakk

It really is hard to compare artist's in their 60's playing power metal than when they were in their 20's with all that zeal and energy.:dunno: I know everyone wants to hear the Dime of old and I get it.... but those days are gone. Plus no one is going to cop Dime to a tee especially Zakk. For me it's good to hear the songs one more time even if it's Zakk playing his tribute to Dime even though it's more than likely is a money grab but I don't think it's on the level of money grab like Rush's ticket prices but I could be wrong.

I saw Pantera one time in 2001 on the Reinventing the Steel tour and that performance was pretty lackluster. They had Dime buried in the mix and the overall mix sucked. As of 2001 the band was beginning to come apart about that time so I'm sure that had something to do with the subpar performance.

It wasn't the same Pantera of 1990-1997 IMHO.

if you just dont watch, you dont have to compare  I honestly never understood the "hear the songs one more time" thing i see so many people say, especially aging bands whos integral members are no longer with us and dudes are filling in. Id rather sit home and watch any one of the endless videos on youtube of when they were in their prime

This is for the kids . It’s good to see them keeping the songs alive but … I’m kinda shocked zakk doesn’t have the swing in the riffs like dime had . Zakk sounds robotic in the riffs . I’m super shocked that Zakk don’t feel that swing
Cowboys comes to mind

The lack of Dime's amps/EQ/etc is bizarre to me. It was such a unique thing that I can't possibly imagine Pantera without it.

And I don't mind Zakk getting to play covers with Phil & Co, but the lack of effort in tone is a bummer.
