Makos version.....

just painted the individual parts....

Dave friedman must have the patience of a saint .I would not touch that to save my life .
probably cost you hundreds of dollars just to clean .
I think it is ridiculous ,Marshall ,or Mesa never do that and they are much bigger and Have been ripped off many times .still they don't do it to new designs .Any good tech /designer probably can figure out the values pretty quick by listening to the amp and scoping it .Totally unnecessary IMO

Removing the goop can be done I hear and can measure all the components. It really would not be that difficult.

This is correct. Just requires the patience of a saint. :D

Had Jose covered them Voodoo, Friedman, Cameron would never be around.

  Do you honestly believe that?

i do - they all have their own versions of jose modifications, or using it as a foundation.

epoxy can still be removed. i have had to remove a few for repairs. but its not an easy task and involves using refrigerant chemicals.

i know mike fortin does mods from his own knowledge/experiences. fortin, mike soldano, and larry amplifiers have much more respect from me in an engineer standpoint because they are doing what they are doing, and not versions of modificatons from someone else. its not hard to play the copycat game, but to invent and engineer your own modifications dealing with distorted tones is no easy task and they deserve more recommendations than they get compared to others.

i give props to everyone with the talent to tune-by-ear though. in the end, if it sounds good, it sounds good. who or how you get the electrical experience is up to you - but the harder path will pay off in the long run.

I just have to go with the original poster .yes it is a paranoia .
I mean Mike Soldano has been ripped off .5,468 times .Blatantly with the 5150 .He does not do this to his amps .
Again it is just My opinion that is unnecessary. If you want to sharpie a few components well ok,

if a mechanic replaced a few parts and modified your Mustang and did that to your engine block underside would that be acceptable ????
In addition is this discussed before sending the amp .probably not .

If Mark was to do it to his own production amps that is one thing .but if something does not belong to you that is wrong .
again just my opinion

what total hack! if I got my amp back and it looked like that Id smash it over his fuckin head, what total disregard for personal property, totally unrepairaable, I dont give a shit how great it sounds, jerk off

I pulled these pics from the Metro amps thread (figured it would be better to ask this here rather than high jack that thread). Supposedly these are gut shots of a Cameron Mod'd JMP. Why in the hell would he render the amp unrepairable by applying all that black shit to hide his work? And the spray paint? WTF??? Let me say I dig the Cameron clips but this is bull shit. Do Fortin and Friedman do this? I wouldnt think so. Honestly just looking at this from a novice perspective....,even with the goop the wiring looks sloppy. Is MC that paranoid folks will affect his income by cloning his Mods?

Who knows if he is paranoid? I hear of people stealing mods all the time. I did hear many times that Scott Splawn copied Marks mods... Heck, Mark copied Jose's mods. Had Jose covered them Voodoo, Friedman, Cameron would never be around. I do agree it is a bit extreme to use paint to cover the whole board.
Without Mark Cameron's mods, there would be no distorted amps. Everything would be clean and we'd all be playing jazz.

Oh and Scott Splawn has enough respect for himself and his customers to
1) Run a successful business and actually DELIVER the product. Unlike Cameron.
2) Not goop up amps (yes I've seen Scott's modded Marshalls). Unlike Cameron.

I remember when this board was all about Cameron.

Oh how far the mighty hath fallen.

Sounds like a nerve was struck... I guess you missed the point.
Not really, but is that what you're going for? Striking nerves?
I didn't miss the point. There really isn't a point... :D

I like Cameron amps.......
Owned 3 of them. Never looked inside to see if it was gooped or not though....... ;)

That's how to get the tonez!
You know what that goop is? People think it's epoxy. But I figured it out. It's unicorn shit.

Actually......I dont have a dog in this fight about Mark putting out amps......
but I think its a bunch of crap if he really ripped off all the people that are stating that he did. :gethim:
If he didnt.......more power to him.

Not out for striking any nerves. Sometimes people need additional information to understand. I am just saying everybody is coping mods and adding their own twist. This has been going on for decades if not a century. :)
Well thanks for the info. I guess I own a Cameron after all... LOL! :D Except I can read all the values inside my amp. Tinkerbell didn't squirt over the key components of my amp so I can actually see what's going on.

I love the CCV. Love the Aldrich as well. No experience with the modded Jose's.

Guess there are at least three Cameron fans :D
