So i took my old 80's Carvin DC200 guitar to the shop to get restored back to original form with the stock pickups and original coil splits and phase switch. Got a call that they broke a pickup and they are willing to buy me a new set since they cant replace or match the aged pair. So far they have offered me any SD or Dimarzio pickups i want as replacement. Since I havent swapped pickups much and It currently has installed an EMG 81/60 set. Im just curious what you guys might suggest.

This is going back to an E standard guitar for general use. Not Genre Specific!

I just said a JB/Jazz set would do. Pretty sure I recall thats what Dave mustaine was using back in the day and what Scott Ian still uses. Cant go wrong with a tried and true I suppose. Tech offered the Tone zone/Air Norton as a suggestion. I did tell him in another simialr guitar Im using a CrunchLab in the bridge. Sometimes i feel that one may be a little to mid forward though. Only other experience i have with different passives is a Burstbucker 1&2 i had in a Les Paul awhile ago, and the Lolar Imperials I have in one now.

Anyways, curious what you guys would get as a set from these manufacturers.

I got a Jalen Fair Warning off Reverb about a month ago and I think it's great !

It's based on a prototype Duncan JB from the very early days of Seymour developing that wind.

Apparently the bag of parts and pickups fell and broke off a corner of the top and damaged some
Wire. Other than them being original, I have no preference to repair them. It’s been probably 20 years since I had them I the guitar. I really have no idea what they sound like. At this poii oh my ok take the replacements.
