I was thinking about removing this fan on a newly aquired JMP and patching the hole.

Would wood glue do it or do I need something stronger???

Thanks!

I just did this repair.

I assume you are going to recover the headshell?

The hole I had was round, so I squared it up just past the blocks (that hold the front/back) and that gave me a shelf for the filler piece.

Use some regular wood glue and then repaint the inside black. That is not a structural part of the box or anything, so a simple patch will work fine.

Thanks! I was thinking of just getting some tolex and covering only the patch. I don't really want to re-cover the rest of it...

I would just leave it alone then. Trying to patch that with wood correctly, and then a tolex patch is never going to come out like you want.

It's the perfect time to add the much needed ESPRESSO attachment to it

No dude, the tone is all leaking out that hole!!!

Wow, I was under the impression that they were totally unecessary....

Aslong as the fan isn't causing any noise issues, i'd just leave it in there. Patching that up is going to look messy unless you re-cover the whole shell

Don't forget the valuable frothing bonus attachment, and ultra-violet music synchronized tooth-brush sanitizer too :hys:
