Anyone that saw my last thread on pickup winding, knows this is a new hobby and I’m still working through sources. Well, I ordered (2) 55000 foot spools of copper wire that shipped immediately and showed delivered the next day since it was shipped from Texas even though seller was not. The item was not received and I filed a dispute. PayPal sided with vendor because they had tracking to my zip code. I went to the post office they confirmed it was an 8 ounce package and NOT to my address. They couldn’t provide my the address due to privacy concerns but said PayPal could call to verify. Well, that would require both effort and a live human. Worst of all it was linked to my bank and not a credit card so I have little recourse. I because suspicious after I made payment and it redirected me back to an all Chinese site and not the original one.

People suck!!!

Dude what the hell, that's incredibly sketchy

Who was the company?

Did they at least verify it was the correct zip code?

THIS is fucked. I'd report this back to Reverb immediately.
I'd also lodge a counter complaint that Reverb used deceptive selling practices,
or at least didn't properly vet the seller after your initial complaint.

That fucking sucks, is there anything else you can do?

NO NO NO!!!!!!! This happened to me twice!! Dont let them give you excuses. See if you can get in writing ANYTHING from the P.O. stating that it wasnt delivered to your address. Thats all I needed and the first time all I did was tell them I called UPS and they told me it was delivered to a different address. Asshole I bought something from the 2nd time for $400 ordered a bic pen directly from staples to : A Gift For You... Thats what it was addressed to, but had the wrong street address. I had proof from UPS via a jpg. image and I won the case. I wonder if that thing would have actually been delivered to me if they would have believed me..... scammers suck!!!

If the buyer provides a correct address, then neither ebay nor the seller would be responsible for a package being incorrectly delivered. The responsibility lies with the USPS if they delivered a package to a different address or if an employee stole the package but marked it as delivered. If you go to your USPS office, they can look up exactly where the package was delivered, as well as verify the address on the label.

As for this shipment, the seller is not responsible for mis-deliveries. Contact USPS and ask them to check the GPS coordinates on the delivery. If it was delivered to a neighbor in error they will be able to see that and attempt to retrieve the package for you.

So sorry this is happening to you. I've had really good luck with USPS, and I feel for you.
I have requested the gps 'ping' on packages coming and going. I've gotten it in about 3 minutes at the local PO (for a package being delivered to me), and within 6 hours of opening a claim at the USPS website (for a package that I shipped cross-country)... both requests were painless.
In the first instance, my package was scanned at a neighbor's house # and located; in the second, the info was used to help me win an INR case.

I'm kind of in the middle of dealing with the same exact shit right now. Ordered something, and got a paypal email receipt with a random Asian dude's name instead of the company name (I was instantly wary). A few days later I get an email with a tracking number - checked the tracking immediately after receiving the email and the tracking said it was already delivered to me and signed for by some random person. Details of the package showed that the shipment was created like 6 days before I even placed the order, and the package weight was less than 1 pound (should have been like at least 10 pounds).

I used Paypal Credit for the payment so hopefully they'll help me out; still waiting to hear more from them

Lots of chinese ads selling fake shit scamming people lately. It's all over facebook with just about every type of item there is. Sorry this happened man. I'm skeptic as fuck nowadays and always check out site's contact/about pages and google any address, email or phone number given. Most of the time they show up on the BBB site with complaints of fake shit and fake tracking etc.

Not quite the same I also have a story of PayPal not siding with the buyer. I purchased a Bogner Fish from a seller overseas private sale with PayPal business. The seller did not use packing materials when boxing it and used a box the same dimension as the fish and shipped it across the world. Predictably the thing was super fucked up. Rack ears facing backwards, the blue finish worn off in places, same with the decals and some mechanical issues with Jacks and pots. I also had pictures of the packaging and me unboxing it. I asked PayPal for a refund or cost of repair with documentation from Bogner documenting the damage. I said I did not receive the item in the condition I paid for. Ultimately PayPal sided with the seller.

This wasnt a mis-delivery for sure for sure. It was created with an electronic label and transmitted to USPS with a different address. That is why they couldn’t provide the address to me, but will if PayPal contacts them

I'd check into the whole GPS thing. I found a number of folks online saying that works.

The problem is that they won’t provide location to me only PayPal. They don’t want people going roque and showing up at a location that may not even be aware of what’s going on. It will require PayPal to call them. I may be able to get them to sign a letter if I type it, but it will only say it want shipped to my address. Such a beat down

Wait a minute.
Two 55,000ft spools of wire and USPS said the package was 8 ounces?!?!

Or was that a typo?

Yeah to me the bogus weight of the shipment should be enough to prove to Paypal that some fuckery is going on

PayPal just denied a claim I made for a 35 lbs bucket of chlorine tabs. I found a seller online that had stock, entered my order and it gave me a total of $69, no shipping charge or sales tax. It had a PayPal logo that took me to my account, I paid and belatedly noticed the total was $80. No biggie, I expected sales tax. Never got an order confirmation email. Next day I called the number on the order form. Out of service. I emailed them. Bounced back. PayPal denied my claim, said it doesn't "qualify." I appealed and am waiting to hear.

scammers. “Spit on’em”
Public hangings should ushered back in for folks of this Ilk.

Go to your bank, tell them you have not authorized this payment and then claw back the funds. This is your recourse. Fuck them. It might cost you 20 bucks...but you'll have the rest back.

Usps will NOT tell Paypal the address it was delivered to. That wont happen. The only thing they will confirm is that it wasnt delievered to your address thats on file. Walk into the P.O. and explain the situation to them. Type your own letter if ya have to and once you have them confirm it wasnt delivered to you just have them sign it. Helps if its a supervisor, but get the full name of whoever it is that confirms no delivery, even if they wont sign anything. Give that persons name to Paypal and the PO phone number and have them ask for that person.

Paypal also asked me to go to my local police station and file a report. If I didnt get the info I did from UPS I absolutely would have gone over there if thats what it would have taken to get my money back. Stay the course and be mindful of who tells you what at Paypal. A confirmation from the shipper is enough proof and will hold up in court. I lost my shit the first time this happened and couldnt believe it had happened again. Good luck.
