Flagged, but they can't see in the system why. No seller/buyer disputes, buyer in on TGP, so I know it's not a hacked account. Item has been delivered with tracking confirmation and all they can tell me is that I should get my money within 21 days. WTF?

Been on PayPal for 17 years with the same account

I had a dispute that took months before I received my refund. Every time I called it was some bullshit story. About a month in to the dispute they closed it for no apparent reason and I had to spend an hour on the phone until I got a supervisor that had the brains to correct the issue.

PP SUCKS!!!

Unless I'm buying I stay away from Reverb, ebay, pp. I just take a bit of chance of not getting "top dollar" , and it sometimes take longer to sell,...I just go CL.

Sorry they got you all f'd up now with your payment..sounds like an error that shouldn't be complicated to fix

In my case there are no disputes. I do about 1 transaction a month and I've reached out to my buyers and noone has filed a dispute.

PayPal did that to me a while back, and I’d also been a long term user.

It wasn’t anywhere near 21 days in the end, but iI avoid them these days because of that situation.

sounds like pp may be taking a Q from the Govt and wants to use your money for a while before giving it to you

I had an issue with paypal recently... they took money from my account stating a customer initiated a charge back. I called/ emailed the buyer and he said he did no such thing? I call paypal and they said only the buyer could initiate a charge back. I asked the buyer to respond in writing that the charge back was never initiated by him.. he obliged. After some time paypal returned the money to my account with no explanation, no apology, nothing. I hope for the day a new platform comes around to offer competition to paypal

I'm done with them. They said my selling habits changed. Doubled in 1 month :jerkit:

Since when can I control the market?

From 1 sale a month to 2. They said this is done by an algorithm that cannot be overriden.

Paypal is getting F'ing greedy . I hear they no longer refund their 3.5% Cut any more for cancelled transactions.

Seems once these online co's get their foot in the door and are well established with no competition they screw over the people who made them what they are.

I try to stick with Reverb. I get my money immediately, even if buyers use PayPal. Not sure I'd use them anymore, unless it's PayPal Gift for sales. I don't think they hold those funds.

They have new TOS updates that are starting next month. Not looking good for my use.

I think that my days of selling with PayPal are over.

Is there ANY OTHER way to sell without PayPal? I honestly don't know.

Now they can use any associated account to prevent a negative balance, which is great and all, but I don't trust them to not make a major error. I have heard of too many people having issues as of late.

well...thanks to technology the world is quite small these days...of course this isn't as convenient as PP, R'Verb, Ebay, etc...but...

I had a guitar listed in my local CL couple months ago, and on FB. Guy from Canada contacts me about buying it, I told him i wouldn't ship it and he was ok with that, and still wanted to buy it... so i'm thinking wtf...well he had a buddy that was 90 minutes from me. Of course his cohort was away on business that week and before he could get back i had a full price offer...so i took it.

i'm seeing more and more of friends reaching out to friends on RT as well, to buy amps, and gear across the country...using people they trust.

again not the most convenient but always another way to skin the cat.

I have not seen anything as convenient as paypal at the moment.. unfortunately. I'm not sure how much Square charges for their service? I read somewhere that ebay will begin using a new platform, other than paypal, to process credit card transactions sometime in 2019? There is room for disruption of paypal... we only need the people with the ability to do it.

I just got my first hold put on a $1000 transfer last night. No reason, just "security concerns" listed as the delay. WTF? 22 years with that company, this is the first "hold" I've had put on my account for a transfer.

I can only imagine the interest being made from holding peoples money.

They released it tonight. No explanation, no reason, nada. Goofy shit.

When I make a purchase on ebay they give me the option to pay with my credit card. IIRC this option became available to me early this year.

I'm also running across sellers on ebay who do not accept paypal.

That is ridiculous. You are a legitimate business. Not a causal seller. (also to note that your speakers are fucking awesome).

I am glad it cleared. That could be devastating for some people if they are selling something to pay bills, etc.

Yeah it was weird. Canadian buyer was sent a money request in USD. He got it in CAD. WTF? He emailed me, it said USD, not CAD. I canceled the first one, sent a 2nd (exactly the same, in fact I cut and pasted the $875 USD amount and email address, etc), and that one went through to him.

Then I had another payment on top of that, so I requested a $1000 transfer, and that's when they put a hold on it for security reasons. All the while I'm getting other payments, making transfers, no problem.

I don't get it.

I've seen worse than that with a business. One of my other hobbies is flight simming. There is a well established flight sim add on company that used Paypal to process their payments and had been doing so for years. The company is something like 15-20 years old. A couple years ago Paypal froze their account from being able to withdraw but they were still receiving and processing payments. The developer removed Paypal as a checkout option when their frozen account went over six figures over the course of many weeks and PP screwing them around. They kept asking for more and more documentation about the business which the company was providing but they wouldn't release the funds.
