anybody know a way to get around this?

item was received with a signature on saturday. I've tried contacting the buyer through ebay/paypal, aol mail to leave positive feedback so that the funds actually go into my account....

this is getting annoying....

Edit: Sorry forgot i was in the classifieds section...mods please move appropriately....

This just happened to me if the buyer leaves positive feedback it takes 24hrs for the funds to be released. If you don't get feedback but have delivery conformation it takes 3 days after the item was delivered. Hopefully you sent the tracking# through paypal.. If all fails it takes 20 plus days i forget exactly.

yeah I uploaded the tracking from fedex to paypal and stuff...I just dont get why I dont get a response from the buyer or he can't leave positive feedback. I'm assuming everything arrived in good order being that he signed for it.

Because lots of people are lazy and couldn't be bothered to leave feedback. Paypal won't release funds until 72 hours after delivery was confirmed to give the buyer a chance to claim you shipped them ceiling tiles, and whatnot. It is total BS. I ended up having to dig around and find a phone number about 3 months ago because I sold a guitar and they didn't release the funds more than 9 days after delivery was confirmed!

yeah not really pleased with that...wish I woulda known...I've emailed the guy like 3 times at different emails...

A while back, this happened to me. I was new to paypal, and was selling and buying high dollar items. I bitched enough that they actually contacted the recipient, and released my funds. Have paypal reach out to the guy. Huge nut-kicking pain in the ass.

Ebay sucks with this stuff, call and bitch and they should get on it.

could just be something in my situation,

Only sold a few things, and only bought a few things, but all have been 100%.

just wish there was a better explanation before so I knew what to expect. I now have a transaction with a fellow Rig-Talk member pending the funds actually showing up. It just frustrates me....

I think they do it now if you have less than 100 feedback. They can hold it up to 21 days if the buyer doesn't leave you a positive feedback.

i told PayPal to feck off about 3 years ago. when they got busted selling private info, i left. they are the biggest fraud in the business. i send a check for purchases. haven't been ripped off yet....

Sounds weird. I've never heard about anything like this. Unless their is some REAL, valid reason...I don't like where this is heading. The point of paypal is instant transfer of funds.

They started it either late summer or in September. If you have less than 12 (or something like that) transactions as a seller in the last 12 months for high dollar items (I think it's over $150 or something), they hold the cash until there is confirmation of delivery (via positive feedback, delivery from UPS/USPS/FedEx).

Ok - this makes sense to me now. I had never heard of this, but I have 160+ transaction with 100% positives.

i had a similar issue about a 2 years ago (and my feedback was well into the 200's) just call paypal customer service, give them the tracking info and the funds are instantly available.

Sucks for me I guess. I buy stuff, but rarely sell anything. So I get penalized with delayed payment because I've chosen not to sell there. I could see if it were new members or something, but I've been on there several years with 100% feedback. Guess I'll have to sell some cheap crap that I don't need money for first.

I sold something on Ebay, i recieved good feedback and left good feedback. I called Paypal and all they had to do was see the feedback and they released the funds.

I actually like the fact that they hold funds, it helps keep the scams down. Maybe Kiwi would never have lost money when he took a chance on the $700 Recto and got a box full of cardboard.

The rule only comes into play if the value of the item is above something like $100...

I see your point, but it's the honest sellers who are being penalized for the scumbag's actions. Especially if someone is really counting on the cash. A lot can happen in the three weeks that ebay holds your cash. Any item can be broken, stolen, abused/misused and the seller really has little to no recourse!

I also think ebay was pretty underhanded about how they started this. Let's face it, ebay isn't exactly making this widely and readily known! I've been a member since I think '02 and I never got a single email message or otherwise! Pretty much par for the course for feebay/paymore pal. IMO, they both SUCK!
