Peavey 5150 II modified by Lickliter Amplification Mod II

Here is a Peavey 5150II modified by Lickliter Amplification. This is a Mod II which consists of: full modification with a Mod I, transformer upgrade, Winged C power tubes, upgraded preamp tubes, and choke added. Tubes provided by: Valve Queen

Sounds pissed-off Mike! Love it.

I've been falling more in-love with the Rage every single day. Such a big, girthy, complex, pissed-off Plexi tone. And the cleans are pretty damn spanky and alive as well. I've been flipping back and forth between the Rage, my DSL50, and a friend's JCM800 6100 head for several days and the Rage spanks 'em soundly. Makes them sound thin and mushy in comparison. I suspect that the Rage would've hung well with the best tube amps I've owned and had possession of (Bogner Shiva/XTC/Twin Jet, VHT UL, H&K Triamp, Engl Powerball 2, etc).
