Has anybody tried these heads through a decent cab? I finally got my second JSX sold and now I'm researching all options. There are some great reviews on HC but there are also a couple of crapy ones.

I played it through a 1960a w/ 75s and I thought it sounded pretty good. I never got a chance to boost it though, so I can't answer that, but for $400 I thought it sounded great.

Thanks for the feed back! Anyone else have any experience with it?

Doubt I'll pick one up but it never hurts to agrivate the sales guys at GC ;)

buy a used one and send it to Jerry @ FJA . you wont be sorry. I think he actually has a fully modded one there now, and for a very reasonable price. windsors are great heads, even stock. thought they are a little buzzy and noisey. played one through a windsor cab, a marshall w/75's. even the windsor cab wasnt bad for being the bottom of peavey's barrel as far as cabs go.

I personally think the Windsor cab is the worst cab on the planet, and I can't stand that amp through it. It somehow manages to be both muffled and fizzy.

I think it sounds good with a greenback or V30 cab, though. I just plain don't like T75s, so I won't comment there.

Ok, I'm going to sound like a total noob here but who is Jerry and what is FJA? lol

get a used peavey VTM

$300 or less, made in usa, built like a tank (about as heavy) and sounds fantastic. its a jcm800 2203/2204 with extra mod switches and runs on 6L6s.

I just got a used Windsor that should be here in a couple of days. I also got Lopoline Signature series 2x12 and 2 WGS Vintage 30 clones to run it though. I can't wait to get it all here and see how it sounds. I really liked the Windsor head I played at a local store a while back so I am hoping this will satisfy EL34 cravings I have been having lately.
