What's a good true bypass pedal to put in a loop to use as a solo boost?
Just wanna add a few db, not change the base tone.
Thanks.

A Cusack More Louder. An effective effect would be an EQ pedal. Then you can pick if there are any frequencies you may want to boost a bit more. Helps in fitting with a mix.

Another vote for an EQ pedal. I've done it for years now. I add about 4db and bump the mids ever so slightly.

Creative Labs Mark 4.23....very transparent and clean boost.

mxr/cae boost line driver I second this pedal works very well > I use it to boost my leads

I just built mine for about 15 bucks. Works perfect too. Radio shack had all the parts, took about 25 minutes. Easy pedal to build. Basic volume cut for playing then full on for solos. Just like the EHX Signal Pad. Still going to add an LED in a bit but had the wrong switch, but again does the job and is completely adjustable without tone changing.Completely Passive without the LED,and no noise, well no added noise, lol

Another vote for the MXR/CAE line booster.
ive tried a bunch and this one sounded the sweetest and worked properly.
the volume is nice and gradual, not jumpy.
No boost is ever gonna be completely transparent IMO. That being said, the reason I kept this one for lead boosting in the loop was because I really liked what it added to the tone. A little bit of warmer midrange and some sweetness to the high end. Even the Suhr Isoboost wasnt as pleasing to the ears although it was the second best I tried for this purpose

Build a passive cut instead, someone else posted a schematic.

I have used an Ibanez GE10 EQ in the loop before and it was excellent.
Cheap pedal, adjustable EQ, and set it for a volume CUT. Then, release it for boost.
Worked great and no tone suck. I like rhythm with a bit less mids, so pulled down a few sliders just a touch.
Then, you get the mid boost and the volume boost when it's off.

Same idea as the cut switch, yet with the available EQ...which I found is nice to have.

ive had really good luck with the xotic rc booster or source audio programmable eq in the loops of a bogner shiva, soldano slo,jcm 800 friedman..

Jeez... There are a ton out there. I would avoid the one knobbers... But if you wanna go that route, I always have an Xotic EP booster on me. It's come in handy on lots of occasions. It's got a couple of internal dip switches to add treble or bass if you need it.

Honestly... An MXR KFK EQ would do extremely well. Then you can tweak your solo tone so it really cuts AND adds overall volume.

Love the EP Booster!!!

mxr/cae boost line driver, works a treat!

Another vote for the MXR/CAE Boost/Line Driver. Works great.

Another vote for the RadioShack rhythm cut pedal idea...

I use the TC Mini Spark Booster. Has an instant on feature that you can just hold the switch down for short passages or fills without having to engage it on and off.

I really like Jerry's (surreal amplification) "more" pedal. Doesn't color the tone at all, adds a few dbs. Just a simple boost, I'm sure you could build one yourself but if you don't want to-I'd go with his for sure.
