So I just went through a span of getting rid of gear that I don't like/use/need and I've come to the conclusion that I want to amass a good amount of versatile pedals.

I need some help and suggestions though.

Delay: EL Capistan, T-Rex Replica etc. Nice Tape echo type of thing
Tremolo: Open here
Octave: Had an Octron but I'm not a huge octave guy. Maybe an OC 2
Chorus: Same here
Overdrive/boost: Something fat but with the ability of higher gain.

And anything else cool. Just looking for a good range for when I use different back lines.

Thanks guys!

Look into the Eventide H9. You can load whatever you want into to. Seems like it's a great innovation.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check it out

Delay- Strymon Timeline. none better
Tremolo - DryBell Vibe Machine
Octave - never used one
Chorus - BYOC Analog Chorus. (FANTASTIC)
Overdrive/boost - Way Huge Pork Loin and HAO Rust Booster for Boost. Nobels ODR-1/ODR-1+(if you can find it) for OD.

You must try a Timeline. I think it's going to be one of those timeless classic units. I think it will always have a spot on my board.

The timeline may be too big.

I'm trying to incorporate some new things on my existing board. Not to say I'd go smaller, larger in the long run.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Keep em' coming.

If you want a fat overdrive with alot of gain I can really recomend the CM-2 by hardwire.

I have a Green Rhino now but I used to have a CM-2. The CM-2 has more overdrive and gain.

The Green Rhino is nice but is alot smoother, less grainy and has less gain as I stated.

The CM-2 is something to look into IMO as far as overdrives go if you want an overdrive with a tad more gain and tightness and can be really smooth or you can add some gritt and grain too with the extra bit of gain available out of the CM-2, it handles higher gain tones better compared to the Way Huge Green Rhino.

I love my Green Rhino by the way :)

For boosts/OD, I always come back to a simple EQ pedal in front of an already distorted amp works best. Boss EQ or even the cheap Danelectro 7 band works well and is transparent. Lets you tailor what freq you boost. I've had some nice boutique od's and they've all been sold. Fulltone OCD is the only other boost I've kept..

Boutique or not.

The only boutique thing I want/dig are delays. I do love DD-3's though and I plan using one on my board as well. Two delays, one dirty one clean.

Flip is I could get a favorite switch for the Capistan too.

IME boutique boost pedals are far better than your typical boost pedals. More musical. More depth. Less harsh everything.

On the other hand boutique delays do nothing for me. If you want specific options yes, but for simple clean repeats? No.

It's funny because other than the El Cap sounding wicked good I'm only set on it because it had built in reverb.

I don't want to spend an arm and a leg but the Strymon Lex Flint would be great.

I still need to check out the H9.

As far as the pedals go,

I'm probably going with the following:

El Cap
CE-2/Corona Chorus/
Xotic SP Comp/Wampler Ego Comp
Maxon OD9/OCD/Cusuack Screamer
Tremolo: Still open here (more if a filler)
Octave: Same as the Trem

On my board now, I gave a phase90 Badgerplex 10 Band EQ wah and a tuner. Gonna change out the tuner and wah.

Buy an axe II or kemper, problem solved.

Not the kinda guy to drop that large of an amount of money without trying it.

Cool choice though!

Bogner red  I use it for boosting my stock jcm...Really nice pedal
