Trying to figure where to buffer and what buffers to use on my new pedal board. All the pedals will be true bypass so I'm not sure what I should do. Wanted to get some opinions on this. Here is the signal chain...

Line 6 Relay 50 Wireless
Goodrich Volume Pedal
CAE/MXR Wah
Analogman Juicer
RC Booster
Little Brute Drive
Zendrive
Micro Pog
EP Pre
Vertex Modded Arion SCH-1 ( Stereo)
Hardwire DL- 8 Delay 1 (Stereo)
Hardwire DL- 8 Delay 2 (Stereo)

Outs to 2 Blankenship Fat boy combos.

its best to hit the buffer as early on in the rig as possible..

the relay wireless could act as a buffer, however if you ever run the rig without the wireless you could be asking for tone troubles.

placement depends on the impedance of the volume pedal, which will be affected either way by the wireless..

if i had a place a buffer, id stick it right after the wireless, or maybe even set it up to only hit the buffer when not using the wireless. some buffers add a little sweetness to the rig, so you may have to let your ears guide you as far as buffering the wireless.

you probably won't need to buffer those sends to the amp if you get the signal in shape from the beginning..

Cool. Now build me out a bad ass pedal board and i'll be in good shape, haha. The goodrich is a High Impedance Vol pedal. I like it to basically just act like the guitar volume pot does. So hopefully that works

It really depends. Some pedals play nice with buffers-others don't. I actually use the buffer in my decimator at the end of my signal chain. The decimator is a necessity in my opinion for the noise suppression, plus you get the added bonus of having it as your buffer.

I would put it after the juicer. If the buffer provides any gain the juicer will squash it...

I only use the juicer on the clean sounds though. So that only helps me half the time

the whole point of a buffer is unity gain.. usually lol

ship me the pedals.. high impedance volume pedal probably won't work as you'd expect.. guess it really depends on the impedance of it..

Will do! I'm waiting to get my Arion back from Vertex! Send me a quote if you can. I still have all those cable if we can reuse any of that stuff. I'll send it along. Plus i have the power supplies need to power it all

True. But what we hear as unity gain and what a compressor see's are two very different things.
