Pedalboard Control System

Hey guys, I'm looking for something to manage my pedals with so I don't have to hit a bunch of buttons all the time. I also want to clear up my signal path a little bit. I don't use too many effects, but I really just want to concentrate on playing rather than having to turn things on and off all the time...plus I just want a really neat, organized board. Here's some options:

Cusack Pedalboard Tamer-seems really neat, has a buffer, tuner out, tap tempo, $500...

Or should I just go for broke and go with a GCX or a G-System setup?

I use t1m loopers and have pedals I normally use together on the same loop
 
If you can make due with only 4 loops, a tuner output with mute, 2 amp control jacks that can control 2 functions each and midi program change on rack stuff..
With 30 user presets..

Look in to a Rivera RM1 , They sell them direct on their site for $299
It is basically a relabeled G-Lab GSC but for $50 less..

Lovin' the price tag, but I think I am gonna need more than 4 loops eventually...thanks for the opinion!

Thats a neat idea, but I don't think thats what I'm looking to do.
 
G-labs has a GSC3 that does everything the other one I mentioned does but has 6 loops with 100 user presets but I think those go for $500

This is what I was going to say. I have had one now in my B-rig for years now. Works flawlessly, quiet, and no pops. :rock:
The little switches for each loop per preset works great. Very easy to change presets on the fly, unlike midi controllers.
 
I was looking for the same thing, but will settle for a nice looper.

The cost of these things is just too much. Add up some decent pedals, a nice board, a switcher, and you could have bought an Axe FX.
 
I have a Rocktron loop switcher. It has 8 loops (which can also be used for amp switching), and MIDI. It was quite cheap too.
 
I'd go with the MusicomMKIII. It gives you 8 loops for effects and has separate outs for amp channel/function switching, etc. Has midi control for other gear as well. (additional midi pres, effects)

The Rocktron floor unit is cool and affordable, but you have to tap into your effects loops if you want to have control of your amp.

Rivera unit only has 4 loops which you will outgrow. The Octaswitch is great for cleaning up a pedalboard but offers no amp/midi control. Gigrig or Musicom is the way to go IMO.

It's a custom unit I had WOBO build. The units are readily available as 8,10, or 12 loops. They can configure any loop to be a switch. Normally the units are built with half the loops in "A" (effects before the amp) and half in "B" (effects in the amp's loop). They also come stock with 1 channel switch. I had them build a 10 loop unit with 7 loops in "A", 3 loops in "B". Also had them add two more switches and the "common return" for the "B" loops. Programing is really simple. There are dip switches on both sides of the controller pedal numbered 1-10. These relate to the numbered foot switches and all the loops. Just turn on the dip switch for the loop and/or switch you want activated for a certain foot switch and if that foot switch will be a program change or an add-on to the already active foot switch. It really can't get any simpler.

That is a beautiful board my friend! I would be tempted in that case to rack mount the pedals and just have the wah and controller on the floor. I like this, but I'm thinking I might want to go with something with a smaller footprint...with only one unit. I am really interested in the Musicom Lab EFXIII and the Gig Rig Pro-8. I know you said on the other forum that you had looked into the Gig Rig (Pro-14 I think), that still may be a good option for me. I don't have any time right now, but I'm going to check out the WOBO a little more later.

I just got the Cusack Pedal Board Tamer and it's great. It sounds great and is really easy to use. Switchable buffers coming in and going out. You can toggle between preset mode and individual loop control modes. You can also program any loops of your choosing to be independent of the preset mode so you can kick them in and out when you like when in preset mode.
It's really well thought out and has a great, narrow footprint. I really like it. The price is VERY reasonable for what you get as well. There's no MIDI, however, if that's something that's important to you.
All of the other ones mentioned are great as well.
The Musicom is REALLY cool and has the smallest footprint of all.
The Voodoo Lab stuff is fantastic.
I've never checked out the WOBO stuff, but have heard good things.

Awesome...I think I'll probably end up going with the Pedalboard Tamer. I don't think I would like being able to only have presets with the Musicom cause I am constantly turning pedals on and off on my little whims..."Ohhh a phaser will sound good here-click!". I think the PBT will be perfect for my needs. Thanks for the input.
