Hey guys, I'm getting a pedalboard here soon and have a question about power supplies. I'm not running a big board but will have a couple pedals in the front of the amp and at least a delay in the loop, maybe even a boost too. I know if you power front and back end pedals through the same power supply you'll get hum, which I've experienced before. Is there any way around buying 2 power supplies? One solution I've already thought of but don't like is buying a power supply and a one spot, but I've had terrible experiences with one spots.

Also, recommendations on power supplies? Already got my eye on the Voodoo Lab 2+ but don't really know if I'd need all that.

Thanks in advance for the help!

I use a PP2+ to power up pedals in front and in loop. No hum at all. Get a voodoo lab if you can. Worth every penny.

You can power pedals in front of an amp and in the loop on the same power supply, provided they are drawing power from their own, isolated power jacks on the power supply. You can't split power from a single isolated power jack to pedals in front of the amp and in the loop - doing this is what will cause hum and or ground loops.

The PP2+ is a good, reasonably priced power supply. Whatever unit you end up getting, make sure every power jack on it is ISOLATED.

Awesome, thanks guys! hthomas, how's the Pink Taco working out? I almost got it after selling my Morgan but went with a 50W 5153 instead. I'm enjoying the leftover cash to put towards renovating all my other gear(new board, cables, tuner and so forth).

I have the Pedalpower 4x4 with pedals running through the front and loop. No issues or hum. Works great!
