Hey Crew. Reaching out to those who have experience working with loopers. I just got the GEC8 delivered today. I want to turn the this....tap dancing board,

Into that....Non tap dancing  !!!!

I look forward to hearing from you guys. on!!!!

Loopers are great. Boss ES-8 hard to imagine playing without out it now.
Switching amp channels and patches with one button is the only way to go.

I use an American Loopers programmable looper. It has four loops and a channel switch function. Before this, I used a Loop Master clean/dirty pedal switcher.

Went from a rack to this s few years ago and couldn't be happier.

How are you guys using these things to switch channels on your amps?

The Musicomlabs pedal looper sends a midi signal from each preset to the desired channel on my EVH 5153 50w.

I love the One Control OC-10. Super simple to programme and can handle a couple of MIDI devices no problems. It is limited in terms of its routing possibilities, for example you have to run the loops in the set order. This means you have to run what's in loop one into loop two and not the other way around.

My tone is as good as it'll get and the buffer on the OC-10 is superb.

If i were to buy one today i would probably buy the Boss ES-5 as i don't use that many effects, i hardly use the Flanger, Phaser or Chorus that i have.

Luke

I have a huge pedal board now I want to shrink down and consolidate ... I have two RJM loopers one for my pedals in front and one for the pedals In the loop , then I have the RJM midi controller to switch everything ...Its honestly to much shit , the board is way to big lol...I want a small all in one switcher that I could put maybe 3 pedals in front and 3 pedals in the loop of my amp. I might go with one of the musicomlab products , just a little worried it wont be as transparent as the RJM stuff.

My looper has an output for channel switching. I think your GEC8 should have some sort of jack that functions the same way. If your amp's footswitch in is a 1/4" jack, a regular guitar cable (or TRS if it requires it) will do the same thing

Musicomlabs is some of the best built loopers with the best components out there. Perfectly transparent. When I built my board I put a limit on the size. I wanted everything to fit in a Pedaltrain 2. I wanted 4 presets and 8 loops. The front row if my board had to be able to fit the four presets, tap switch, volume, and wah. I went with the Musicomlabs because it was used by so many touring Musicians ( i.e. Pete Thorn) and it was the only one small enough to fit with everything else in the front line.

It does. I have the RJM amp gizmo and now i am waiting for the interface cable to show up. On another subject. Are any of you guys running a noise gate before/after your loopers?

My board is in a constant state of change. I keep around both an Es-5 and an Es-8 depending on my current needs. I agree, it is difficult to imagine my board without a switcher now.

Now the way that guy did that is AMAZING. In the looper I have all my time based effects running through the loop of the amp. I put my decimator pedal from the looper out to the decimator to the amp input. Works like a frigging charm. So much that it makes my ISP Decimator pro rack (stereo mod) G moot. That will be in the classifieds soon.

I used these two (M-Tech is an Italian brand):

The looper is midi-controlled, so I can keep everything near the amp, and with me just the MIDI controller.
BTW I'm selling them for getting a Kemper.
