I had to send my new one back for a very minor issue - it's in transit and will have it back tomorrow. I've only played it unplugged and it was pretty amazing - looking forward to getting home and plugging it into Friedman :)

I dig your backyard man... Nice mix of lawn with some solid concrete work and the like. Black wrought-style fence really pops against the treed area. Nice yard

-baaaahaha!!!... WTF!!!
What?! Dude's got a sweetass backyard. Nicely dialled. I don't let the details pass me by. Stone work alone is impressive :dunno:

Thanks again. And, I should be a lot thinner as I built that myself :)

This is the first I've heard of Performance guitars.

At those prices, what sets Performance apart from Tom Anderson, Suhr, a CS Charvel and Luxxtone?

-true!!!.. It just reminded me of myself, scouring the background of pics from chick's that have the mandatory bathroom mirror selfie.

You have to play one. No way to explain them other than to say they are magical, 100% hand built guitars.

The owner is getting up there so I might order another soon. These rarely come up for sale and when they do, they are pricey.

BTW, one is listed in the classified now. It's a strat body - all of mine are Corsair which are a bit more streamlined.

Well - I managed to score another (MINT) Performance Snakeskin :)

I've only seen 2 of these come up for sale and I bought both. Ironically, a 3rd just showed up on Reverb :)

Congrats on another snakeskin, looks killer!

I just got my first Performance guitar a few weeks ago, had wanted one forever, seriously nice. I've been eyeballing that snakeskin up on Reverb the last couple of days too, so cool.

Yeah, I bought it from a fellow forum member just recently (black nitro finish). It's a great player, and I just had my tech install a zebra Arcane pickup in the bridge, I'm actually picking it up tomorrow and will post a pic.

Oh - I know the one. Strat body. Very nice.

Performance doesn't fear the cease and desist letter about the headstock?

That black one is killer! What is the Performance neck single coil like?

The owner Kunio (Kenny) worked for Fender once upon a time and I suspect they turn a blind eye. He's also a small shop - I've not been there but seen photos - I'd bet my garage is bigger...

Thanks. I just plugged it in this past week as they repainted the body for me (long story). It sounds really good but I don't have enough playing time in the neck position to compare it.

Nice guitars. I ordered a body and neck in the mid 80's when I read that Steve Vai played one. That was back in the day when you saw an add in a magazine and sent a check or money thru the post office (no internet/cell phones). I went to the shop in the late 80's when I moved to LA, it was small, as mentioned.

Steve Vai had a bunch of his Eat Em & Smile guitars stolen from a storage case at some point either before or during the first leg of the tour. The story is, he had Performance Guitars slap together a few replacement guitars for him. I remember one was white with orange and blue spray paint dots, with the paint running down the body at different angles.
