Means nothing. If I were his family, I wouldn't answer a damn call or accept anything from MLB.

You don't think Pete should be allowed in? Or as a matter of Principle the family should say no?

I mean friggin bastards should have let him in when he was alive. Glad he's getting a Presidential Pardon and if anyone deserves it, it's Pete.

He should have been allowed in when he was alive. They were always gonna wait until he was dead to honor him. Giamatti was a fucking scumbag.

Totally agree. Ima talk about how and why Giamatti, the Baseball Writers Association of America and how the current Commissioner are fucking scumbags later after some coffee. Really break it down how it was a disgrace to basic fundamental justice, freedom and liberty as is known in America and the west. Even people 100-150 years ago could expect better freedom/justice than the shit the MLB and how it carries out "rules" and enforces them.

It's the most backwards way someone could have treated anyone and even people in 3rd world countries have more freedom and liberties by the standards Pete Rose was treated. What the MLB did was a rape of freedom, liberty and justice that is a disgrace to American ideals, tradition and heritage IMO.

Simply put the practice of applying punishment after the fact and ex post facto before a rule even existed is the most backwards way of dealing "justice" and what happened to Pete was not only an injustice but a complete disgrace to basic rights and freedom IMO and Western and American way of life in general IMO.

It's okay bro. I lived it. We all loved Pete and hated that scummy fuck.

The main thing for me is the fact that Pete Ross broke rules before 91 involving gambling. This made it so that he was ineligible for the MLB but given the rules at the time before 91 he could still be put on the ballot and be voted in to the HOF.

The thing is Giamatti, the MLB, the Baseball Writers Association of America and other folks at the time out of spite and malice changed the rules in 91 to retroactively punish Pete additionally after the fact, such rule had not existed before and he had already received punishment...... they changed the rules so anyone who is ineligible isn't allowed to be on the ballot or voted into the HOF post 91.

Simply put you can't seek to punish people additionally after they have already been punished for the same crime and you can't apply laws to them after the fact before laws or such rules existed. If the MLB rule were a law in America and common law and how it was enforced it would simply be unconstitutional given this fact.

Not even in the most ass backwards countries and dictatorships or places where the regard for freedom and justice are much lower than in the United States or Western countries on average are such standards acceptable but this is what the MLB did. Even in North Korea they will at least make stuff up and fabricate documents or evidence to make any sense of an alleged crime or try to make the illusion of an acceptable form of "justice" but the MLB can't even pretend to do that...... Essentially what the MLB did by retroactively punishing Pete after the fact is a bastardization of freedom, liberty and basic justice and rule of law and it makes zero sense to do so under any circumstances, under any time or modern standards in general. Nevermind as said if the MLB rule and how punishment was enforced were American law as such it would be unconstitutional........

It's not just Un-American and it's just so wrong on so many levels and not even despots or dictators would do as much and if they did they would at least make things up to make it look like an acceptable form of justice but the MLB didn't even do that. What the MLB did with Pete Rose is the most un-American thing anyone could think of in regards to basic ideals like freedom, liberty and justice and basic due process....... Two wrongs don't make a right Essentially and the Presidential Pardon remedies this IMO.

When the President called Pete Rose......

The President: " Hello, Pete Rose"

Rose: "Yes sir."

The President: "This is Ronald Regan"

Rose: "How you doing." 🤣 🥲

I mean before my time and outside of modern players wasn't aware of Pete.....

But when I looked at his numbers and his story a while ago and relatively recently.....

I mean........ he deserves to be there with the other players in the HOF IMO and it's the right thing to do...... we can't judge him by todays standards or punish him again for the same crime and continue to do so.... the MLB was completely wrong here......

It's time to forgive Pete and he deserves to rest in a Field of Dreams with the others...... Pete, his family and friends, Baseball and fans deserve it.

he was issued a lifetime ban. so technically hes now eligible
I wish they'd stop the horse poo poo and did it when he was alive

Unfortunately yeah the ineligible part applies even after your dead.......

But I mean yeah it's been a load of BS for sure since they made that decision and stuck with it. Really makes you understand how lame, boring and square those dudes up on the top at MLB are along with the Baseball Writers Association of America.
