Thanks much chris
The midi on my Hagen is erratic. When u set it. It jumps around one time you push button it'll w go to correct channel. The next time you push it does nothing n then again u push n it jumps to wrong channel. Tried 3 different midi pedals n different cables. No go! Peter sent a new chip installed no go! Peter sent oscillator quartz n caps installed no go! Same erratic problem with midi.
Now we are just waiting to hear from the man!
Any thoughts?
I even sent it to the Diezel factory, and got it back with a new midi-board. The problem stayed. I got an email from Peter stating :
"I tried the amp in the workshop with different midi controllers.
There is a new midi board in the amp, so I would suggest to
check the midi cable and the midi board.
Yes the amp channels. I have a Rjm mastermind and a Randall 4 channel midi pedal. The channels jump. I set say ch1 on pedal to ch1 on amp ch2 on pedal to ch2 on amp n so on. If I hit ch 1 it will jump to ch4 or sometimes not change at all. Or sometimes to wrong channel.
I have tried both midi pedals
I have even tried diff midi cables
Same erratic midi.
The amp is actually at 232cap house. He is a member on here n has put the new parts in that Peter sent me. New chip. New caps new oscillator quartz. Same result.
Also art has tried his midi pedal and it does the same thing. Jumps around.
I don't wanna sell I've been a die hard Diezel user for 7 years. N love the Hagen.
My Herbert I tried the pedals with was lightning fast changing amp channels. So I know pedals n cables r good.
had a problem with vh4 and tc electronic g system... got a new midi chip from peter and it's working wonderfully. and peter usually responds to emails pretty quick. give the young father a chance.
I have an issue that is similar, but it is not my amp. It turns out that when I plug my midi pedal into certain power outlets (like in my house and friends houses) the midi pedal acts all crazy. It is like i can find at least one outlet in every house that causes this. I know its not the amp cause I watch the pedal change channels... its almost like it is searching haha. I use an Engl z-12 for the time being.
this also happens when I plug my cell phone into the same outlets that cause my midi pedal to freak out. the cell phone goes all nuts and the touch screen acts very erratic. like if I try to select something it wont do it or it selects something completely different.
I know that sounds completely stupid, but I have tested it to the extent of my knowledge and came to the conclusion that it is the power outlets that cause my problem.
My solution is to get a Diezel midi pedal and always use phantom power haha.
( just to clear it up) I am having no issue with my VH4 and I know that the issue is coming from my midi pedal. As I stated, it only happens when I plug in the Engl's power supply (no phantom power) into certain outlets. These same outlets cause my phone to freak out when i plug the charger in.
Great to hear the amp company come to the rescue! Nothing beats personalized service. And huge congrats to whomever just had a baby!! Nothing else in life beats those newborn days!
