Does this amp have a foot switchable HBE mode like the BE100 ???

Thank you.

No it does not. Phill doesn't use that much gain.

Dave,

Can you add a couple gain stages, throw in a foot switchable clean channel, add a boost and do this in a white head shell? ;)

And I am too while at it

Just get another BE then

Or maybe you have a plan

From what I can gather from the specs, pics, shitty video, etc... this sounds like it's going to be a fantastic amp. Makes me wonder whether I'd like it more than the Smallbox.

I played it at NAMM. It is a fantastic amp. This is gonna be the one everyone talks about, once they get out there IMO. It's a simple straight forward ripping lead amp. I even told Phil it was killer  Great guy and player.

I just read this description on one of the Euro sites...

"The Phil X signature is a 1 channel, 100 watt bruiser! Featuring two master volumes, a choice of 3 gain levels (one of which is with the gain cut switch, for an 800/JMP tone) , a line out, premium Friedman loop, and a variac switch."

Besides BE and 800, what is the 3rd gain level?

So where does the phil x preamp voicing fit in the friedman range? We say the brown eye is the hot rod plexi, the Steve Stevens is a hot rod plexi but darker?! The JJ is.......? The phill x is.........? Any help?

Basically the highest gain level is the BE channel stripped down. Very clean signal path. Then one about the same as a 800 and one in between. The variac switch is not going to be called that. It changes the voltage on the board of the amp. One way sounds more browned out the other cleaner with more headroom. It the amp Phil wanted.

The youtube 2014 NAMM clip sounded pretty darn good to my ears.
