Recently picked up a 2016 SG HP in a trade .... looking to replace the pickups with something from Dimarzio ( I have my reasons )

so ..... if you were to pick a humbucker combo from their selection .... what would you go with ?

All my guitars have high output pups in them ... looking for something lower output ... not so compressed ... open sounding I guess I would call it .
Is that what they mean when they say " air " ??? Like in the " Air Norton " ??

Playing nothing but EMG's from 89 till 2017 .... I can count on one hand how many different pick ups I've tried .

It’s tough to beat T-tops in an SG. David Allen “powerage” are my favorite set

I love the PAF 36th Annis. Underrated just because they're not traditionally built.

Might want to look into the Fortitude. It's a slightly overwound PAF 36th Anni Bridge.

I'm having great luck with a stock 500T in my Raven. It just sounds at home in that guitar.
Otherwise check out Railhammer.

Call Scottosan and ask him to write dimarzio on the box of whatever you buy. I had an sg gothic and the stock pups ripped in it. Really wish I never would’ve gotten rid of it.

did you miss the bit where he said "looking for low output"? .. 500T is HOT as fuck haha

I have a ‘90 SG custom that I have had forever. Had always been looking for something to make it sound like an old SG…a month ago it dawned on me that this guitar is OLD!! So I put the original pickups back in it and it sounds just like I was trying to make it sound.

I put Duncan Custom Shop Pearly Gates in my SG Custom and love them. Pretty drastic difference between the CS and production Pearlies. The stock 490/498 were not bad actually, but I wanted a more vintage thing for this particular guitar.

Depends on the sg

If it's pickguard mounted I would go for something on the higher output end of low output - I would say Wagner godwood/American Steele set or perhaps pearly gates set

If it's ring/wood mounted you can go on the lower end of low output - 36th anniversary, throbaks, Duncan antiquities, Seth Lover, or have Scott wind you up something

Scotts pickups have been killing it lately, just put a Psykes and a lower output neck pickup in my carlino and they KILL
