I've never been a huge fan of maple, but man, this thing is just sexy! And, the JB actually pairs well with the snappiness.. I usually yank JB's, but it's a winner in this guitar. Set it up with .010's, a tweak here and there, and it's buttery smooth. Neck's not nearly as thin/flat as the Dinkys I've owned in the past, which is a huge plus.

500K pots? 250's?
I haven't looked, but I'm guessing 500k Alphas. I thought about upgrading it though for higher quality, I'd like more range with the volume and a treble bleed. The Friedman cleans up nice with the volume rolled back, but typical Pro Series Jacksons aren't going to have high end electronics. They put all the frills in better pickups and serviceable 1000-series Floyd.

I do like the 5-way - 2 & 4 gets you true single coil spank. Splitting the '59 is especially nice.

Nice guitar.

Love Jackson Dinkys. Have two of them.

I like the pink ones. I have a Charvel DK24 2PT that is kind of the same except with a 2 point Gotoh trem and a roasted neck. It's a very comfortable and solid guitar. I pick it up when there is a new tune I want to learn.

I looked at those. I do like roasted maple. Had a Schecter Nick Johnston that had a wonderful neck on it.

I am really impressed. I had the pink HSS model and it was nice -- wound up selling it and kept it in the back of my mind to look out for a double humbucker model. The black with the roasted maple neck is perfect. I guess there are others that like the matte finish with the other colors but they aren't for me. I'm changing out the pickups to Pariah Pasadenas.

No tuning issues? That's what kept me from buying one.. I know the first runs had atrocious tuning problems.

I read about this too, but absolutely no issues. I even bought a set of Wilkinson Locking saddles but never installed them.

I'm selling my Japanese Dinky for a Strat. I know I may regret it but I am a Strat/Tele guy through and through.

Yeah, I still want a Tele. I just haven't figured out which is the right one for me. Many Fender models to keep up with. I thought about a Schecter PT Elite, but I don't want the skinny neck and want more traditional passives that split, vs. super high output. The Charvel Style 2's look goofy to me for some reason.

Where did you get it ? I thought it was Japanese at first . I like that setup with the control location and the maple neck but can't seem to locate one online to look at the specs
