So I'm looking to replace the BurstBuckers in my R0. Just not my cup of tea. I'm torn between Bare Knuckle Rebel Yells, Motor City 2nd Degree Black Belts, Bare Knuckle combo of Riff Raff & The Mule or a different Gibson pickup. I play lots of hard rock but I wanted this guitar to be super versatile in the tones. Thoughts appreciated!!

I play 70-90 hard rock/metal (RR/EVH/Malmsten/Dio/Maiden/Sabbath etc) and I like lower output pickups. I have a set of Duncan Antiquities in my R7 and love them in that guitar. The Trad + in my profile pic has a set of DiMarzio 36anniversary and they smoke in that one. In my 3PU BB7 I ditched the bridge BB for Duncan Custom but have Gibby BB's in the neck and mid.

Get a set of OX4 High Winds. They do high gain excellent as well as your PAF tones. Great clarity and harmonics. Marshallhead bridge is another one I like in a Paul.

I really love the Bare Knuckle Riff Raff in the bridge of my R9. The stock neck Custom Bucker stayed - it's alright.

Before that, I tried:
Duncan Distortion
Bare Knuckle Nailbomb
Bare Knuckle BlackHawk

The Riff Raff just works so well in a Les Paul. I play mostly modern metal, and it tracks great. Being a hot PAF, it will do vintage tones as well.

I'd love to hear some clips of the Riff Raff in your LP if you've got them. I've been eyeballing them for mine.

Rebel Yell /end thread

I have a set in my R0 and they are incredible.

I have RYs in my Standard and a set of The Mules in my Classic. The Mules are just so damn nice. They really do sound good doing anything from clean to classic rock to modern high gain. I highly recommend them.

My Wolfetones (Dr. Vintage neck and Marshallhead bridge) are in the mail to me now. Can't wait to install them.

I just installed a set of MH. Great sounding pickups.

Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge, PAF in the neck. You're welcome.

this set is consistent and sounds good in just about everything you put em in. I've had this sets in alder and basswood strat bodies, Firebirds, a mahogany neck thru V (Jackson polka-dot RR Tribute V) etc and always sounds great. I never tried them in a LP before though

wonder how a custom 5 would sound in a lp? they kill in shredder type guitars.
