umm why are Tom Holmes p'ups $739?

Probably because ed roman is selling them.

I want to check out some arcanes but I just haven't felt the need to drop some money on pickups lately.

Revolution Guitar has them for $750. are they made from Seth Lovers genitalia or something? i know i sure as heck would not pay that much for a set of pickups

I haven't tried everything, but I haven't been looking for pickups since I "picked up" three Suhr Aldrich bridge pups. They are better than anything I've heard from Dimarzio, Duncan, Bill Lawrence USA, Bill and Becky Lawrence, Fender, Jackson USA, Gibson, or even Suhr for that matter.

The Aldrich is AWESOME. Just hot enough, decent Harmonics, super articulate, warm, etc., even a decent clean tone for a bucker. They split nicely, etc. KILLER PICKUP.

motor city pickups are among the best i have played.wade took the slugs from vintage pafs and had the metal analized(lol) and reproduced for his pickups.you wont get closer pafs than what he can make you...

High Order, gave up on the rest if you are into PAF type.

Nice prices...down to earth...

Somebody should have told him that if he dumped the website, became harder to contact, and created a little forum mystique he could be charging $200 for a bucker...

my experience has been tom holmes for humbuckers set my benchmark, and lindy fralin single coils have that chime i love. vic at mojave took the holmes 455 and refined it to his tastes when making his custom hummers, and at the time, i thought vic's deal had a slight enhancement.

seymour custom vh humbucker, and suhr fletcher landau single coils are my runners up..in my experience.
i wouldn't mind a set of the landau's with the silent system to compare against my kinman avn 59s..

i've got a used Zebra Duncan 78custom i'm gonna spam here pretty soon, may be low, but i'd do $80 PP and shipped for longtime RT members.

+1, I assumed the bridge pup was killer from what had been said about them, I was really surprised the neck pup was so good! Haven't got it wired to split, but its coming!

I can't believe nobody's mentioned Johan Lundgren

http://www.lundgren.se

absolutely incredibly little things, I'm a BIG fan of the M6 for metal, it's so harmonically rich with incredible clarity and sustain! :)

next axe is getting a M6 Bridge and Revolver Neck for sure!

what's hot?

Game over....

The covered Marshallhead's shown are in my R8...I've got Dr. V's in my R0...the double cream Dr. V's here are just waiting for a home ;)
