Hey guys!

So instead of buying a 7 string, I've decided to tune my PRS CU24 to B standard (BEADGB), but it's definitely going to need some new pickups for the job. We're talking high gain tones, running through a Mesa Mark IV live, and Axe FX for recording.

I use PRS Tremonti pickups in a lot of my other guitars. LOVE them, but not quite sure how they'd do tuned that low....

I've been considering a Suhr Aldrich for something a little different...will it work well in this application?

Thanks for your insight!

Eric

For somethin tuned that low i would use a very tight pickup. I havent played the aldrich but im very curious about it.It look like a tight pickup with good high mids cut. Other options would be to go active or if you have the cash maybe an aftermath or a painkiller?

I did the same thing. Prs singlecut, tuned to drop-B
Duncan JB, Bare Knuckle Holy Divers, And a Suhr Aldrich. The Aldrich is till there and is doing the job decently, I still may try the EMG's
But the Aldrich is the best I've tried thus far.

Painkillers track fast and take the lowest of low tunings aplomb!!

2 cents, given...
