Why not get the WLH bridge to match the neck?
I thought about doing that. I prefer A2's, I'm thinking about just doing a magnet swap in that one with a A2.

Don't get caught up in the magnet only....the wire, winds, etc all matter. I used to not be a huge A5 fan either and the Bareknuckle Rebel Yell changed everything for me on that mindset. There is nothing that pickup can not do and the same with the Black Dog style wise. Those two pickups I have found from experience play well with various types of guitars and amps as well. They are a great fit for what you say you want/need sound wise and they work with your type of guitar superbly. Very little risk in those selections and while others may be good or even in slim cases better, most of those choices are far more finicky. Just a thought

my custom shop custom from the early 2000's came with 57's. sounded great. dark and smooth. tad to dark really.

I always come back to a JB/'59 in les Paul's, tho I have a set of Bkp painkillers in one, and love them as well. I prefer hot pups thru a boosted medium gain amp.

Rebell yell
Check out Seymour Duncan Antiquities if your thinking about Alnico 2
