Im looking to replace the stock PRS #7 out of my 03 singlecut. I play a mix of Southern Rock, Hard Rock and metal. I use a mesa mark V and the #7 dont have enough output to really drive channel 2 & 3 with out a clean boost. Idealy i would like to have a bridge pickup around 10k and neck around 8k or so. I prefer a warm and fat sound. I need the pickups to have short pole piece legs so they will fit in the damn shallow cavity. What are some of my options? I would like not to spend more then 200-250 for the set.

I would look for a set or PRS Artists or a set of Tremonti's.

I had a set of BareKnuckle Steve Stevens in my SC.
Lesser gain than the stock #7's but a bit clearer in note definition and the mids were neutral sounding.
Nice match but wasnt "WOW'd".

....by the way ,got mine used, raygun covers, box, all the goodies for $200.00

I'd absolutely recommend the Tremonti pickups. My all-time favorite.

Will the Aldrich fit? I had issues with the alnico pro IIs i tried putting in. Cause the poles where to long. Does anybody have any views on the wolftone marshallhead? will it fit in the PRS pick up routes with out to much trouble?

I did a back to back comparison of the Aldrich and a MC Afwayu in my SC 250 today. The Afwayu won. The Aldrich was nice, but it wasn't as agressive in the mids as I wanted and it was a little more compressed.
