Need some pickups recommendation for the following guitars:

1. Bridge pickup for guitar with alder body with maple top and maple neck/fingerboard guitar with floyd rose trem. Alternatives considered include BK VH II, SD Custom 78, MCP Detroiter and Tom Anderson HF2+.

2. Bridge pickup for guitar with mahogany body with maple top, maple neck/fingerboard and floyd rose trem. Alternatives considered include Suhr Aldrich, BK Holy Diver, Dimarzio Tone Zone.

3. Bridge pickup for guitar with mahogany body, maple neck, ebony fingerboard and floyd rose trem. Alternatives considered are MCP Hot Head, Dimarzio Super Distortion and Seymour Duncan Custom.

I play 80´s metal hard rock and shred type music (MacAlpine, Moore, Gowan, etc). My current amp is a Friedman BE 100. The idea is to have different pickups for the 3 guitars in question and money is no object here.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I had the #2 Scenario and went with the Tone Zone, couldnt be happier..Yea I guess maybe more botique or a little more output would be cool but the pup did exactly what I needed it to do. Warm up my bright guitar. Mahogany/Maple/Maple

Thanks! I´m a fan of the Tone Zone. Perhaps I should go for it again for the guitar in scenario #2.

are they all superstrats?

1: holy diver
2: miracle man
3: black dog

Thanks!!! 2 of the guitars are super strats and 1 is a Warmoth Les Paul copy that has a floyd rose trem.

I have not tried Detroiter's in a alder/maple guitar, but I love 'em in my LP! Especially for lower tunings!

I´ve always used Dimarzio and Duncan pickups and wanted to try some new alternatives. There are so many choices out there that it is difficult to choose. Specially when you have guitars with different wood combos (body/neck/fingerboard).

Do yourself a favor and check out the Dean "Lights Out" humbucker. Doesn't matter which guitar......I have it in a LP and two Alder/Maple super strats. I went through 5 BKP's, a couple of MCP's, a WCR, Suhr Aldrich and DSH+, and a ton of Duncans/Dimarzios.

I like the pickup so much that I put it in all my guitars except for a P-90 loaded LP. I would describe it as a Duncan Custom with the mids of a Dimarzio Super Distortion.......but much smoother/fuller sounding than both.

1 SD '78

2 Holy Diver

3 Duncan Custom

Edit: you should really try a Custom/59 hybrid. It's my fav SD bridge pup.

A pickup I've had good results with in a variety of guitars and woods is the Rio Grande BBQ bucker. It's my go-to when I want something with more meat.

Thank you guys for all the suggestions. After careful consideration and some internet research I have decided to go with the following choices:

1. SD 78 for the first guitar

2. Bareknucle Holy Diver for the second guitar

3. MCP Hot Head for the third guitar
