Hi Dave.
Love the Pink Taco.

Do you offer any mods for it?

Thanks.

Kev.

Also, I'm a bit confused about the speaker outs.

Do I plug a 16 load in the single 16, 2x8 load in the 2x8 and 2x16 load in the linked single 16 and 8?

Thanks

16 <--- one 16 ohm cab

8 8 <--- two 16 ohm cabs

8 <--- one 8 ohm cab

Well everyone's a comedian eh!

If I have to clarify.

I thought I had read a post that Dave had carried out a modification to a Pink Taco which didn't incorporate buying a new amplifier.

Also, plainly, can two 8ohm cabs be connected to the Pink Taco?
The diagram on the rear of the amp would indicate to me, that they can. However, the Manual which turned up on the Friedman website recently doesn't metion it!

Any useful information would be greatly appreciated.

That might have been mine. It wasn't a modification like the kitchen sink or anything like that, but just a slight voicing change as I found the EQ a bit difficult to work with. It sounded like it was just my particular amp though.

I wouldn't have anything done to the amp if you like how it sounds now.

And those two 8 ohm jacks are either for one 8 ohm cabinet (using one jack) or two separate 16 ohm cabinets (using both 8 ohm jacks).

Thank you.

I have had mine for nearly a year. It came without a manual and I have been searching ever since.

Yesterday I had a look at the site and found the manual as a download and found this was the way to connect speakers.

Luckily I haven't tried it with 2 x 8ohms!

a little bird told me that a clean channel can be added to the Taco

That would stop me GASSING for a Smallbox. Every pun intended!

I can't imagine the pink taco needing any kind of mod. Tube swapping gave me nice results with the PT. A JJ 12AT7 for the first tube added clean headroom without losing volume. Tung-sols power + preamp set gave me a nice compression, smoother gain, and slightly more gain overall. Great amp and lots of fun to play. I'd love to see a 6v6 version.

i'm with you, i don't need a clean channel so far, the volume on the guitar can get me clean at real life band volumes with the gain on 4 - such a killer amp :D
