Dave,
What a great amp. Very fun to play, and sounds a LOT like my old 68 (when it was working). Obviously way more versatile. LOVED the clean channel with my Tele. The EL34s didn't sound too honky with the Tele. Nice.

VERY full sounding - unlike some of the old amps that can be a little spectrum-choked, but not so full as to be overtly "modern".

Anyway, really enjoyed it. I've had an SLO, the previously mentioned 68 SL, Shiva 20th, and others; I currently own an Ecstasy and a Metro 12K. I'd be very happy to own one of these. I am now planning on buying a Pink Taco as it kills my current portable solution.

are you boosting your 12k series? or just using a ppimv and a high output pickup? or all the above?

No boost - no high output pickup either (SD '59). Just the PPIMV.

That amp is pretty incredible.

I'm dying to play through one of the new BE100 heads. I like the idea of the full clean along with the ability to footswitch between BE and HBE modes.

Hey Ron,

I wandered into the FB GC and found the Brown Eye!
I agree with you on all aspects. It's a killer amp.
So much so that I have one on the way.
I never would have bought one without playing it first.
But after playing it, it had the feel that I dig. Can't wait for it to get here!

Totally smokes, doesn't it? Really fun, especially with only about half the available gain used. I played it again yesterday and had the tone from "Girl Gone Bad" nailed. Love it through the GB & V30 cab, but I bet it would sound good through just about anything. It reminded me of my old SLO in that it did THAT THING perfectly, but was harder work getting it to do other stuff (though was certainly passable in the cleans department).

Have fun with that amp!

Got it in and have been using it with a Mesa Recto 2x12 cab and a Mojave open-back loaded with a Creamback65 and G12h30 55hz. It sounds good through both. I'd love to spring for the matching cab. It does have it's own feel and sound, and I'm diggin it a lot.

Thanks!

Man I want one of these bad--everyone seems to be digging them
