i liked it, but didn't love it. i do like a present sound. i didn't open it up loud though, as i hate playing in a store, i always have. but i had it up enough to hear the voicing well enough over the background noise.

i dont think it's any longer on my list of amps though.....BUT, it was REALLY easy to dial in. over the years, i've tried and owned a lot of amps, and i still sound like me through all of them. i guess that's a good thing.

if it were a steal price though, i'd consider it.

great amp overall. i liked the touch response and the presence. there's a certain hi mid thing going on that cuts nicely, and i liked that as well. the bass was nice and tight and the mid pretty typical boogie.

The one I had reminded me of boogie's take on marshall. I liked mine ok, but it wasn't one of those WOW AMAZING amps. It did what it did ok, but if I wanted ok then I'd buy a peavey and save money over the mesa.

I had a stage 1 deuce that I liked quite a bit. I thought the tite clean and the crunch mode on the clean channel were awesome and loved the tite gain in a 2 guitar band but never liked it for jamming alone.

i could see where it woult be pretty harsh sounding at higher volumes, alone.

yeah, the modes in each channel were really cool...i guess that's just different tone stacks on switches?

i wont lie, i've been thinking about this amp here and there, but, i dont have that urge to run right out and plunk 900 down on it, especially one sitting used in guitar center that probably has been abused as long as it's been sitting there.

there was a mesa DC3 they had for 550 out the door, but i didnt have time to play it, but wanted to.

I had one ..... needed to push the poweramp to get the sounds I wanted.
