Thanks for the review Reza! I just sent Dave a Metro 50w to mod to these specs for me, should be sweet!

So if one wasn't crazy about the dark eq of the b.e 100, would the smallbox be voiced different enough to warrant giving it a try?

Joe, I could change that for you if you like. The small box is not brighter.

I never heard of it being dark? In what way? Dave could tweak the NFB loop and make it as bright as you want so you will need less highs, mids, and presence and have it brighter.

me either
I would say mine was "thick and very fat" even with the fat sw off :D

i must admit having watched countless Friedman clips online and owning a Pink Taco, the Smallbox sounds like the best of the bunch to me.

Just got mine yesterday and I had the same response as Reza. I played it straight in, no boost with a TC delay. I cranked on it for 15 minutes straight on just the plexi channel. Stopped for a minute and just laughed. Then flip it to the BE channel. WoW my jaw dropped. This is my first Freidman and my first amp that is very Marshally. I've played Bogner, Diezel, Dr Z (3 closest to Marshall that I've owned) and none of them do the old school crunchy punchy plexi thing like this. I'm just awestruck at how responsive the whole amp is to your touch and playing dynamics along with how well your guitar volume knob adjust the tone. I could go on and on but I'll do my own revue for that. I've never posted a video but this thing will make me do it. I now see why so many drool over his amps. Seriously bravo Dave, I tip my hat to you sir.

There's a damn near new mint one for sale in the classifieds I just checked out...

Just FYI.
