Criticising and insulting are two different things. If someone makes a constructive criticism it's perfect, but if someone directly insults a project without even reading the given information, that's just wrong.

I didn't find anything Markedman said insulting. He gave you his opinion that he thought your product looked looked ugly, seemed like a toy and sounded like garbage. I've seen top brands called much worse but you don't see them getting all bent out of shape. If you can't take this kind of comment without lashing out I don't know how you're going to make it in the business world.... or life in general for that matter.

And I guess insinuating that people are poor musicians and guitar players without ever hearing them play is just constructive criticism to help them get better right??

I'm not embarrassed to post our campaign on Rig-Talk because we will continue our crowdfunding on other platforms and with this kind of criticism, you showed us how to prepare our advertisements accurately.

Just make sure all the people in your adds are wearing tan pants.

To be honest, if you were a good musician and a guitar player, you'd be more supportive to startup companies trying hard to develop new technologies for the guitar community.

We launched a crowdfunding campaign for a pocket sized, touch screen guitar effects processor on Kickstarter.
I wish you luck with this. It will no doubt be difficult, but nothing great comes easy.

As for the comments here - you're always going to get people online telling you exactly what they think in very stark language. This generally doesn't happen in person as it's considered rude, but it goes without saying the anonymity of this medium brings out the worst in folks.

A suggestion though - on smaller forums like this it's considered bad etiquette to sign up just to sell something, or in your case ask for money. Some pedal guy did this recently and was crucified pretty quickly. Contributing to the community here, or a least asking for feedback is cool, but jumping straight in as you did will likely ruffle feathers.

Again I hope it goes well, and that your visit to this forum has been a learning experience.

To be fair, IMHO if something's intended to fit in a pocket comfortably, rounded corners are a must.

For constant handling and hand-tweaking, beveled edges / round corners help a lot too.

I like it. Rounded corners are a must. I mean it is easily carried in your pocket. Consider me a future customer

Out of everything this product could be, the rounded corners are the focus? Bizarre.

Yes he could've done better in this thread but that aside he's out there being innovative, entrepreneurial and venturous - 3 things very few will ever even attempt in this realm.
You are right, I made the original post as a joke but it was pretty rude because I know people put so much of their time and heart into things, and it sucks when it's easily dismissed. I apologize to the OP.

I would also note that many here would pop big for an AXEFX or Kemper product in this small format.
But I agree that in the OP "prototype" format it looks like a beginner product.
Would probably sell well if part of a beginner guitar bundle as most parents don't want a beginner guitar kid to have a 100 watt stack.

I didn't find anything rude in your original post that would warrant needing to apologize to the OP. Their product didn't grab my attention right away and that was my initial thought too... don't they have several things like this already, what makes this special? You just made the comment in a light hearted way. I didn't find anyone's comments actually rude; maybe blunt at worst, but not rude or insulting.

I have no issues with the device itself, not my thing but it's probably what some are wanting. The issue came when the OP started attacking forum members who didn't immediately think the device was the best thing since sliced bread calling them poor musicians. It's already hard enough to put your stuff out there and make it in the business world. I know people are proud of their work, but you can't expect to be patted on the back for a job well done by every person on the planet. Some are just not going to like your product. And you're definitely not going to get anywhere insulting your potential customer base. A better business strategy would be to use any negative feedback as an opportunity to identify areas of improvement. In reality it's the OP who should be apologizing for directly insulting forum members.

Well, this is constructive criticism and thank you for your feedback. You actually made a good point on how to advertise for the right audience with your reply.

I'm not embarrassed to post our campaign on Rig-Talk because we will continue our crowdfunding on other platforms and with this kind of criticism, you showed us how to prepare our advertisements accurately. This is what I expect from real musicians, criticising a product in the right way to help manufacturers make their product better.
And yes, I admit that our product is not perfect yet as it is just a prototype with limited functions which was built with a limited budget but we are working really hard on it and continue developing it everyday as the funding goes on.

Congratulations on the new little addition to your family! Wishing the three of you all the best.
And at some point, I really hope that you'll continue rocking from where you left!
I’m going to give my 2 cents. I’ve found the biggest weakness in headphone based platforms is that most are spec’d for lower impedance headphones that lack the sound quality of the higher impedance headphones that said most people are oblivious that it actually makes a big difference is sound quality. If you have a device spec’s properly to drive 250-600 ohm headphones and uses high impedance headphones, it’s night and day difference and separates toys from professional level. As said though, most users don’t know how to choose the best source and headphone to get the best quality out of that type of setup. I also don’t see what your saving with space since it’s useless without a guitar, which is 20x the size of the unit.
