I have a '90s LP Studio that currently looks like this:

original look when purchased:

I'm bored with its cosmetics. Was thinking of just slapping a metal pickguard on to match the chrome look, or going with a complete redesign-black/white or black/cream zebra pups, cream or white pup rings, etc.

What looks the best?

(Last two choices are much closer to actual guitar color)

black rings
les paul custom triple layered black pickguard
cream open poled neck pickup
raw or brushed non-shiny nickel covered bridge pickup

that would be the coolest looking wine red lp studio ever

Voted 7. I wish there was a none of the above option, I don't really love any of the options you have. I would probably just add a black pickguard and be done, simple and cheap.

Pretty much the original look when I bought it, but I'll add it as a choice.

#4 but with black pickup rings and the black pickup selector.

I like #9, but.....

i) I'd ditch the black pick guard all together
ii) I'd replace the black speed knobs with solid black top hat knobs (unless, of course, you need to be able to do volume swells on this guitar)
iii) I'd put in solid black pickups (no chrome covers or zebras).

I re-voted 10, but #5 would be my 2nd choice. #7 my 3rd choice. #5 has jumped ahead of 7 since the last time I looked at the options. :)

I'd go with all black hardware and some zebra pups. Or....gold bridge, gold pup covers black rings black toggle. No guard. I hate LP's with pickguards. I'm a little biased, I have a 95 studio with gold hardware.

Dude, I'm honestly a huge fan of double cream and zebra pups. Matched with the same rings could make a badass LP.
