Just got this album in my monthly installment from eMusic. Wow! I know it's an old album, but man,. I'm really digging it right now!

It is a really good disc. If you don't have the rest of their stuff, Deadwing is, IMO, their best work, followed closely by the newest one.

that first track on in absentia always sounded like it needed Dog Pinnick singing on it

Tone is overrated. A good song, is a good song.
 
I've been hooked on that album as well over the last month or so. Also it has some significance in relating to my mood after losing my child earlier this month...

IMO it's their best work.
 
In Absentia is my favorite by them too but check out the Lightbulb Sun album...very underrated.
 
POD's we're blended in for overtones because they we're used in writing, but they've never been used as the primary tone on a Porcupine Tree album.
