All of those funky colored cabs are recent custom orders. His cabs have always been on the more "traditional" side though, check them out:

I have an os 2X12 and it's as good as the hype. Daniel is top notch when it comes to customer service.

I got to meet Daniel of Port City amps and cabs at the NY amp show and all I can say is that I was totally blown away by his cabs (The amps were great as well!!)

I have never heard a cab project the sound like the port city cabs do and I happen to own 2 ported cabs. When Daniel set his amp to clean the sound that came out of the cabs were truly stunning. The really amazing thing is that the sound comming from the amp felt as if it was 2 inches away from my face and I had to be at least 10 ft from the amp. It was truly uncanny!! I tried both the regular and oversized cab and they are both amazing and each have there own thing going on but they both project the sound like a beast!!

I cannot say enough great things about Daniel and his work. He treated me and my friends like gold and that goes a long way with me! I would highly recommend anyone to check out his stuff if they can!!

Now all I have to do is start selling off some gear to buy one of his cabs!!!

all the best!

Ralph

Hey!! I'm SO fkn PISSED I couldnt make it, but,... you know.....
Ok, so as usual, like all of us, later you went home an played thru your rig.... the earcandys. Yours are a custom build, but I ( we? ) have played thru them before....So, what's the difference? front load/rear load?? What do YOU think set them so far apart?!???

Im just not sure about the whole port thing. Doesnt that give a false kinda bottom and feel?

Not on the Port city cabs. The ports on there cabs are way different then a normal port and there was no sense of false bass at all.

Are the Port City 4x12s front or rear loaded ?

Are they designed around specific speakers ?

As far as I can tell from the pictures, they appear to be rear loaded and they were not designed with any particular speaker in mind.

I hope this helps!

The difference between the EC and PC cabs is that the EC cabs are front loaded and the PC cabs are read loaded. The PC cabs have more going on internally where they were designed to project the sound. none of the sound gets lost in the cab because the cab was designed to push the air out to the front. The whole bottom of the PC cabs is a port whereas the Ec cabs just have the 2 port holes in them.
Th biggest tonal difference is the PC cabs make the sound comming out of the cab feel like its 2 feet in front of you no matter where you are standing. Its very uncanny. There is also no boat of woofyness comming from the PC.

With all that jargen said, I still love the EC cabs and would not get rid of them becuase they do something that other cabs don't but the addition of the PC cab would be killer!

love ya brother!

Hey Ralph, were the PC cabs loaded with V30's?
sup Dan!
The oversized one was loaded with v30's and the normal sized one was loaded with heritage greenbacks.

I'm a little late to the party here, but those sound like great cabs. I will definitely have to check one of these out in the future. The oversized 2X12 looks like my cup of tea!
