I'm not talking about Suhrs, Andersons's, etc. I'm strictly talking about Fender Strats.

Tell me about the best strat you have ever owned or played

As for me, I have owned quite a few of these guitars. From American deluxe models to American standards to American fat Strat's....

About a year ago, I found myself completely stratless. But that was okay because I was happy with my Ernie Ball music man's and PRS guitars. One night, I decided to go through or used music gear website and I came across a Deluxe Players Strat for around $280 or so. I snagged it right away. I ended up ordering a replacement pick guard and replacement pick ups for it but that didn't cost a lot.

This is by far the best playing and sounding strat I've ever owned. The neck is amazing and it just looks great. Is it the best in the world? Hell no. But for those days and I get a craving to play a Strat, this fits perfectly.

What about you?

I have a few... but this is the one

My 72 reissue MIJ

I bought this as a fan boy guitar to play every once in a while and mostly just keep around forever as a long term investment.

Problem is, the guitar is the perfect weight, perfect setup and perfect tones. I play this guitar way more than my late 80's Standard.

American Standard. Suhr Aldrich and Duncan Quarter Pound.
It's a pretty dense/heavy Strat. Sustains forever and ALWAYS sounds great.

American Standard HSS w/Suhr Aldrich bridge pup and some cosmetic changes (knobs, pickup covers, etc.). My favorite guitar.....always plays great. This is the one I keep coming back to. I used to have a JB in the bridge and it sounded very good but the Aldrich is a difference maker for sure!

'76 Hardtail body/'74 neck with Corgan loaded pickguard. So fat sounding but clear and versatile.
I love this friggin guitar.

They only made 10, this is #4 - I got it new from Mars right before the implosion. You don't want to know what I paid. :-)

My 68 Strat that I bought from Eric Johnson. Incredible sounding/playing guitar!

So very very cool. Great guitar and I love EJ.

Things I like about it? - lightweight/resonant, the pickups, the chunky neck, the radius, the staggered tuners with no string trees, ect.
