Wait. You were Shat GPT? Ol' Shatty?

Never used alts. Don't believe in them. I did change my name slightly from 311splawndude to 311boogieman but figured most would not even notice. I was going to sell my Splawn and buy more Boogies because.

I dunno man. Still seems weird to me. I mean I commend you guys on your moderation of it, but it’s a shame you had to do it in the first place.
I’ve seen it myself on a smaller scale. I hear “if you don’t want people talking about your kids don’t mention them!” Which I think is pretty shitty.
Just because I talk about myself and mention that I have a family, doesn’t mean it’s appropriate for someone to tell me I’m a terrible father and that my kids hate me and deserve better etc because they disagree with me about the moon landing or some shit.
Can they do that if they chose to? Sure
Do I think it’s shitty and indicative of their own emotional intelligence? Absolutely.

Just because you can say something doesn’t mean you always should, ya know?

It doesn’t bother me personally because I know I do have a wonderful home life and family, but it’s a bummer as someone who, in the past at least, looked for a certain kind of community in forums.

People can get butthurt all they want (not referring to you MM), but I not gonna feel bad about calling a spade a spade.

Like MM was saying, Donnie B. brought most all of that on himself. There are a few others here who seem to do that too. Then there is a percentage that like to cry foul when things don't go their way. Posting pictures of your kids on a guitar forum is not a smart move IMO. There are other places to do that. :dunno:

Just like posting pictures of yourself, your real name, your neighborhood, your workplace, your email, your wife, your etc etc.

You do you tho brother I still love ya :D

I never did, yet Lisa thinks she knows who I am and has gone around posting the info, hinting at doxing. She also threatened to contact another forum member's wife to instigate a divorce because he wouldn't post a clip, and recently chased a veteran off the board who felt threatened by her use of private info that he may have inadvertently posted. Like I said, what a bitch!

Free speech and insults are one thing but I think using the forum in that way is not cool 🤷‍♂️

edit: also shouldn't be tolerated and may constitute actionable harassment.

I mean I get that Donnie, or anyone else could have been asking for it. If I post a picture of my wife I am inviting someone to use it in the future, but that also speaks volumes about the person who chooses to use it as well.
It doesn’t make the person reposting my wife any less of an asshole, ya know?

I'm staying out of it :dunno:

And who was the veteran rig-talker out of curiosity? That simon guy?

Did someone do that ?

As I recall you got very defensive because I said something like “ what if that was your wife and kids” or something similar. I sure as fuck never accused you of being a bad father.

I’ve been accused of being a bad father many times here, not by you though. I’m also told that either my wife will leave me or already has. It seems to flip flop lol.

Just don't do it though Dan. It is not safe and not healthy. Same thing I told Donnie. I mean why? It's like throwing an over-sized softball under handed to someone with a big bat. 1.) You don't always know who you're dealing with on forums and 2.) There are others who are members here (anywhere) that only lurk and never post. We've had some frickin weird people on here man. That Kruger guy ended up being a serial killer. :dunno:

I'm just saying there are other forums you can use for family pictures

For sure. That’s kinda what I meant about the community here. I’m not trying to say it as an insult, but clearly this isn’t a place you talk about your life much with other people

I think for the most part we have a great community. I don't like being paranoid either. Just practical. I talk about my life a whole bunch. I just don't post pics of my family, my face or my real name. BTW - I have nothing to hide I just think it is a safe practice. I imagine Gear Forums to be somewhat like Gun Forums. A bit rowdy

Well all I can say is that kinda shit isn't my style. I will say that when you mix it up on the internet, and I say this from experience, giving people ammo to use against you isn't a great idea.

I'll post pictures of certain things or of myself as long as either my face is covered or it was like 30 years ago.

Think you can track me down by this ?

That’s sweet bro. I’m working on a project that started as a 6g3 clone, but I’m fucking around with the normal channel a bit. I’m just using parts I’ve been salvaging from old builds.
Looks like this now, but I got a good feeling about it lol

Not sure what the transformers are or if they even work, but I’m waiting for some quiet time to bench test those

That's way beyond my skill set homey. Let me know how it turns out.

I sent the chassis off to Don Butler in SoCal about 11 or 12 years ago and had him do a cap job and put a grounded power cord on it. Other than that everything except the speaker and the rear baffle is original. There's some gal ( also in California ) who does, or did, repros. KInda looks funny since it's brown and the tolex on my amp isn't. My dad bought that amp in the 70s for like $150, but he wanted a Blackface so he broke out the Kiwi. If I could go back in time I'd slap him. lol

These days it sports a Cream 90, Blackplates and Bugle Boys. It does what it does very well, but I don't think the metal guys would like it much. Keef's favorite amp though. And Clapton recorded with one.

I’m going for straight Billy Gibbons tones on this one. If it works I’m gonna try and get a “Tush Deluxe” logo for it lol.

It’s going in what I think is an old crate vintage club cab that I put some checkered cloth on a while ago.

Oops, I forgot, the grill cloth isn't original either. It is the same material ( it was a bitch to source) but as you can see I didn't do a great job putting it back on there.

If it sounds anything like mine it will do ZZ Top really well. I think originally these things had either Jensens or Oxfords in them. Mine had a Utah, which I blew when I was a teenager. My dad put the Utah in there. At one time I had a V30 in it. Didn't care for it. I still have the V30 and it's UK made. In a drawer somewhere. I put the Alnico Cream 90 in there which some say is an odd choice, but man it fucking sounds killer.
