I couldn’t say it better!R.I.P. Spaceman. Ace would be the first one to tell you it was a miracle he made it this far. Not just an American legend but a World wide legend of Rock n Roll and inspired millions over the years to play rock guitar.
Look at this fucking technique jesus
I can't stop laughing look at his right hand

R.I.P. Ace!
He came to be an influence on me as well -guitar-wise-, even after I had my teenage influences by Slash, Jimi, Angus and Eric (heck, even Kerry, Jeff and Jaymz)... and if it wasn't for a beard that I'm not willing to part ways with just for gigs, I'd be in a bonafide Kiss tribute now, playing Ace.
I agree with most of the stuff @jabps said already; sure post-'79 Kiss was lacklustre with some highlights, but lemme put it this way...
if you ever find yourself in a situation where you can really crank an old Marshall full stack, with a Les Paul and you'd rather play some Eric Johnson, Vai, Satch or (hurl) some nu metal riff instead of just rammin' the Cold Gin intro riff (or...fair enough, AC/DC's Shoot to Thrill intro riff) with as much gusto as you can, you and I are wired differently.
Ace rocked, period.
So sure, Dan, it's easy to cherry pick on some carpal tunnel-inducing clip from someone past his prime perhaps, but solos like this (4m48s) were pivotal to the history of hard rocking guitar playing:
And for all the haters, some of you may be more proficient on the guitar, sure, whatevs, but can you say you've done something as awesome as shredding on a burning, smoking guitar (7m43s) in front of (tens of)thousands of Japanese fans back in '77?
I rest my case.
While you're at it, is there anything you can do about that dreadful Paul Simon? That's right and I'll get Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, or whoever the next overrated crappy boomer guitarist you all like next![]()

I get it but when I have the urge to jam late at night and not wake the entire household up, playing through a Marshall model on my Fractal is pretty satisfying through headphones. Not ideal but certainly scratches that itch for sure. This is a perfect example of why I will always want to play through a loud tube amp and not a modeller. This is something that you feel course through your guts and your soul.
My ex-wife doesn't play guitar. Would you be willing to make an exception?
