Hey everyone....
just thought we could start this kind of thread, that everyone could dial in the settings of the others, to check out their sounds.
it is increadible how the soud of the herbert changes, by turning just one knob ;)

Chan 1

Vol 10:30 Treb 10:00 Mid 11:30 Bass 12:00

Chan 2 (+ mode)

Gain 1:00 Vol 11:00 Treb 12:00 Mid 12:00 Bass 12:00

Chan 3

Gain 11:00 Vol 12:00 Treb 12:30 Mid 12:00 Bass 12:00

Mid-Cut (only added to Chan 3 when need modern sound)

Intens 9:30 Level 12:00

Master Section

Pres 12:00 Deep 12:00 Vol 1 8:00-10:00 Vol 2 (I don't use it)

I've tried all different gain settings, but always come back to the 1:00-1:30 range on Chan 2 +, and 11:00 to 11:45 range on Chan 3. That seems to be the fattest, smoothest, clearest area for gigging. I do have RFT's in V1 & V2, all other pre/power tubes stock type.

i know im gonna sound crazy but my favorite lead sound (shawn lane, petrucci, steve lukather, self indulgent lead kinda thing ;) ) is ch 3 no mid cut, gain between 1 and 1:30, treble on the low side around 10:30 or 11:00 (i like dark lead tones) mid way up around 2:30 or 3:00, bass at noon, presence and depth to taste for me around 1:00 each. For my brighter sounding guitars depth at 1:30. this works well for me live. The clean and 2nd channel (+ position right) settings are pretty standard everything between 11:30 and 1:00 except mids on ch 2 they might get to 2:00 if i want more snarl.
peace

i posted because my settings constantly change, im sure a new thread can be helpful to some :)

I agree. When I look back at my last post, I see how different my settings are. What I thought was good back then, is much better now. It's like that with my other amps, as I age with them, I can fine tune them better and better. And also find what tubes they like. That's why I always give an amp a pretty long time to get to know. Like my recto, I really didn't like it for quite a while, but now it's a really sweet sounding amp.
