Power Amp suggestions

Currently getting into the rack setup.

Already have a Rocktron mAXE preamp, Rocktron Pro Q, Furman Power Conditioner.

Playing it thru a Tec 21 PE60 2x12 and sounds good enough for me.

may look into a Power Amp since I'm also looking for a 2x12 cabinet for my Ampeg VH140c and Crate GX130c.

Do you guys recommend a Power Amp for the rack stuff or just run them thru the power section of the Ampeg or Crate?

What Power Amps should I look into, wouldn't mind it being solid state!
 
Any of the VHT power amps. Some even really like the Carvin TS 100.

Not cheap, but I have to concur, these poweramps are in a class unto themselves. I've got the 2/90/2 and it's beyond killer.
 
I used to take the Ampeg VH140C out to a Mesa 2:FIFTY poweramp and sounded damn good. I used one channel, not stereo because I never used the onboard effects. It's fun to mess around with.
 
Those vHT amps are way more than I plan to spend.

Looking for something much cheaper!
 
It's marginally better sounding than the ART SLA-2, but not by much. I've owned both and sold 'em quickly.
 
I rather like my Rockton Velocity 120 and have had it quite a few years. I alternated between a Mesa 2:90 and the Velocity depending on the gig size. Best bang for the buck is the Rocktron stuff or TubeWorks stuff.
 
I just got the Matrix GT1000 for my Axe FX and it sounds just as good as when I run the Axe through the return of my Mesa/CCV. Best SS power amp I've tried. Tubes, I'm partial to the Fryette stuff.
 
Is the original Rocktron Velocity 150 a good buy for my setup?

There's one available in the classifieds!

If your looking for a nice power amp, I have a Art SLA2 amp in the classifieds. It's better than the Rocktron ss amps IMHO. Way more power also!

Direct from Matrix. I think it was $829 shipped. Got it in 2 days from the UK.
