Power tubes for EVH 5150III

I just bought this amp used, the owner said the tubes have about 10 hours on them, for a piece of mind I want to get some new power tubes and keep what's in there for back up. The EVH 5153 currently has JJ 6L6GC

I'm interested in trying either Ruby 6L6GC-M-STR or Sovtek 6L6WXT+

What do you guys recommend for this amp.

also if you have a favorite preamp tube cocktail please share

JJ or Ruby.

I would stick with the JJ 6L6 that came stock with the amp, its voicing seems to work good for the EVH. But I've been having a lot of success with TAD 6l6 on my Randall RM100, they sound amazing loud and clear like old Marshall. I might try some TAD when it's time to retube my EVH. Check it out.

I tried a lot of tubes in the EVH... JJ powertubes sound good in there but def not the best IMO... My first choice is Sovtek wxt+ and then the Rubys after that....JJ preamp tubes sound awesome in the EVH though

I have the 50 watt.....but I don't really care for the JJ's in the preamp positions that affect the red channel. There was a noticeable difference for the better using either Svetlana 12AX7's or Sovtek LPS in at least one of those positions. Channel 2 is fine as is with the JJ's.
